We found The Beaver Inn and The Royal George right at the end of our trip. We decided to visit one for lunch, the other for dinner...however after enjoying our lunches (and trying a bit of each others) we decided it would have to be the Beaver Inn again for our evening meal. We visited with a 7 and 11 year old and they put us in a snug at the end so we didn't feel like we were disturbing everyone around us if we got a bit noisy. I recommend the crispy half Duck in Orange Sauce, delicious!

We went to The Beaver as we had heard it was good for fish - which is probably true. The skate on the specials menu was very nice. The pollack was fine but a bit dull. The main problem was the appearance of the staff being disinterested which was slightly offputting, not at all rude you understand, they just gave the impression of not caring.

However the beer was good and food was fine. Whitebait for starters was excellent.

Did seem slightly overpriced for basically slightly better than pub grub though! Ended up paying £20 each with only one pint each in that - and only one of us had a starter.

The Beaver Inn is a really nice cosy pub with great views over the estuary. The locals were super friendly and we ended up in a darts match with them by the end of the first night. We went back the second night for food which was ok but nothing special. The menu was fairly limited in terms of variety and the quality wasn't great. The restaurant area could do with some updating to comfier chairs and nicer tables. For lunch it would be lovely with the views but there are better places to eat locally.

Beaver Inn looked promising from the outside with great views over the estuary. Limited uninspiring menu, but we opted for a dish from The Specials board - Beef in local ale pie, with peas and chips. It was very poor and not worthy of the 'specials' board at all! Watery tasteless stew with an oval disc of puffed pastry plonked on the top, served with a dish of poor quality frozen chips and peas. The only tasty part were the peas, which doesn't.t say much! Come on Beaver Inn, get your act together, this was very poor pub grub. CANNOT recommend.

Me and my girlfriend were here eating lunch recently and had quite a nice time. Our drinks order was taken immediately on arrival and we had a choice of tables to sit at, all of which had beautiful views. There is a huge amount of choice when it comes to drinks both spirit wise and draught choice. The lunchtime menu is large and there is definately something for everyone on it. My partner had a baguette and I had a burger. As we were the only ones eating, both of us felt we had to wait quite a long time for our food to arrive. When it did we were happy with both meals temperature and appearance. The baguette was slightly overlooked and crumbled apart when you tried to eat it but the filling was very nice. The burger was average as the meat was not the best quality but portion size sort of made up for this. The accompanying chips were okay and the salad was clearly fresh. The service we both thought was good but we did decide to pay at the bar due to the waitress not asking wether we wanted anything else and therefore having to wait a little while. We had two meals and three drinks and the bill came to around £25 which we thought was reasonable. Overall we thought the beaver inn was a beautiful place for a drink and definately worth eating at, especially in the warmer months.
