Very well laid out and lots to look at, Very varied: Guide sheets loaned for visit. Life stories, incident reports, snapshots of all sorts of events, replicas, models. Little shop. Enjoyed far more than expected.

Fantastic archives of ships, sailing, shipbuilding, West Couintry history, beautifully arranged and accessible. The volunteer staff are well informed, friendly and very helpful. A brilliant little Museum

Worth a visit to catch a glimpse of the local shipbuilding industry, which is still active, and goes back centuries. Also of interest is the fact that Appledore was a main port on the North Devon coast, with cargoes being transferred to smaller vessels for onward shipment to Barnstaple. Lots of history.

Interesting and well laid out exhibits. Reasonable entry fee. Enthusiasm of volunteers apparent who ensured from the outset you were welcome

This museum is definitely worth a visit if you are in appledore. It is stuffed full of paraphernalia from the last 500 years, focused on the maritime history of the area. There is lots of information you read and I learned lots over the couple of hours spent there. The main downside is the presentation which is not logically laid out at times and hard to discern a cookery timeline to all of the different events.

There was a good quiz for children and helpful staff and the entrance fee was very reasonable.
