Just visited the seagate for 2 nights, had a fab time the hotel is very modern, immaculate and clean, you get a warm welcome from every member of staff, nothing seems too much trouble. We had evening meals and breakfast here it was beautiful and very well presented. Including value for money you could not put a foot wrong with this place. It is a credit to the owners who like to chat smile and make sure the customers are enjoying their stay we will definitely be returning again in the near future.

We have eaten at The Seagate before whilst staying in self catering accommodation so this was a real treat when we came to stay in February on the £99 deal, what a bargain, they made us so welcome, it was so cosy, as soon as we opened the front door the warmth hit us both from the staff and excellent heating. Meals perfect with real treat breakfast menu, this was our second visit and it certainly won't be our last! Our little dog, Bruce was made to feel very welcome too.

We originally hired a small cottage on Irsher st for 5 days as visiting family with our son, who was one during our stay. It was not however until my mother and stepfather arrived that we chose to go to the Seagate hotel as space was at a premium in the cottage.
Thankfully February is not high season and they could offer us two nights accommodation.
The suite we had was lovely over looking the bay.
The staff exceptionally helpful, even helping at the last minute to cater for a 1 yr olds party.
The refurb has been exceptionally well done, very comfortable decor and seating. Th food is also very good, I will do a separate review on this.
All in all a great place to base yourself in North Devon, with car parking which is handy. Possible the only improvement would be to buy a cot for those with young children, I am sure they will get one soon.

Whilst touring north Devon for a few days we booked into The Seagate Hotel as it ranked number one on Booking.com which we use.

Our stay was perfect. The friendly warm atmosphere was wonderful at we felt right at home as soon as we walked through the door.

We will be coming back whenever we are in North Devon

We had a great two night break at this hotel. Friendly, obliging, warm, clean--as many good adjectives as you like. The weather was bad but with such a welcome and great situation, it made no difference to our enjoyment.

Room Tip: Room 10 overlooks the estuary, twin beds, light and airy. Warm and cosy. No noise but it was January...

Extremely comfortable room, great haddock/gammon/tbone/full English. Really very hard to fault this place even for the most discerning of guests. Clean and modern. I would certainly come back. Superb beer too.

Room Tip: Room 7 has a nice double and en suite. Very quiet. Great sleep.

We arrived late on Friday evening due to a long drive in lashing rain. Just managed to squeeze in for dinner before the kitchen closed because the incredibly accomodating manager offered to take our food order over the phone while we were on the M5! Utterly delicious fresh fish, local ales and good wine - all very reasonably priced. The blueberry bakewell tart with clotted cream is the stuff of dreams.

The room was stunning with gorgeous views of the sea - I actually think they must have upgraded us to the suite as the hotel wasn't fully booked, but only charged us for a standard double.

Great hearty breakfast with lots of choice - we came down rather late (10.45 am) but they were more than happy to serve us even though breakfast had been packed away. It was so good our friends who were staying elsewhere came to join us for breakfast on the second morning.

I am really struggling to find a negative word to say about this place - I had such a nice time. My only complaint (VERY minor) was the plastic cups in the bedroom - glasses would have been much nicer. Oh and perhaps some herbal tea bags in the rooms (I am a fuss pot).

We will be back for sure.
