Personnel was very polite and always with a smile. Our room was very clean. The food was close to excellent, only the lunch dishes disappointed us a bit, but breakfast and dinner buffet were very good. There was a big choice and it varied from one day to another. The atmosphere in the hotel is very relaxing. And there were a lot of little details that gave us a feeling (that we rarely get in other hotels) that the personnel here really makes an effort to make the hotel perfect.

Very luxurious and relaxing. Professionel staff. Quiet pool (adults only hotel) so perfect for couples. It was like a honeymoon. Good meals, big room, nice garden with relaxing beds. Area is less touristic than the other side off the isle, near palma.

As many have stated previously, lovely relaxing hotel complex with beautiful pool and grounds. Staff very helpful and I would agree with VibekeB 's comment about waiters not understanding English. The difficulties I had in getting a pot of tea with some milk became a running joke between my partner and I, could get the tea okay it was the cold milk that was the problem! This problem also extended to a latte too, but perhaps I am bring a little picky.
Food was okay but into the second week of two week stay it became a little dull.

The resort of Cala Mesquida is not a very large place made up of a 2 or 3 other hotel complexs, shop, supermarket, car hire premises, pharmacy a couple of cafes and two restaurants (one being situation on the beach. This proved a little bit limiting for entertainment and eateries.

Nearest town is Cala Ratjada which is situated around a lovely harbour. A vibrant holiday destination in it's own right for predominately Germans. .So many bars and cafes cater to German tastes. I found several lovely restaurants offering a wide range of foods. Also for a substantial sized town has all the shops you would require for any sort of shopping.

I found the accommodation very comfortable and clean and only had one slight whinge. The floors beings all tiled means that you can hear people in the room above walking around in shoes, screeching of chairs being moved etc and suitcases being wheeled along corridors outside the door. On the whole very pleased with the room size and its furnishings.

Cala Mesquida has a gorgeous beach supposedly 10 minute down hill walk from the hotel, very clean, crystal clear water and you can walk out some distance before the water gets deep.

In conclusion - yes lovely hotel with wonderful pool and grounds but a little isolated from night life and restaurants. Food okay but not great. The entertainment I found the most disappointing
every night, same sort of music that was nice a safe middle of the road stuff, and if you're staying for 2 weeks you can see all the acts twice. For peace and quiet you cant beat it if need just a little more excitement then maybe not for you.

We were looking for a relaxing holliday in Mallorca (mid July) and we choose Vanity Suite through the Norwegian operator Ving. Part of our decision was because this hotel doesn't allow children. After long weeks of work we needed a really calm place to stay at. This hotel has proven beyond our expectations and with the beautiful beach in Cala Mesquida nearby, you'll be really well off. The staff is great, and the food as good as it can be for buffee. They also serve à la carte for lunch. Cleaning is excellent too (thanks Maria)!

The most beautiful area of the hotel, in our opinion, is the pool area with the surrounding garden. Balineese beds with white linnen drapes and sunbeds creates a perfect atmosphere. What could be improved is the waiters ability to speak/understand English. Besides, thanks to the waiter Arturas who speaks proper english and for great hospitality - he is exquisite!

This hotel has an exceptional calmness. You are only distrurbed by the grasshoppers or the watering of the gardens. You will sleep like a baby all night long - pretty much what we needed from our busy life. Still the hotel arrange entertainment of high quality every night, so you wouldn't be bored. Or you can do as we did, rent a car and drive around the island. Cala Ratjada, the nearest city, is only 12 minutes away with a cab and has the most beautiful harbour.

We highly recommend this hotel. True value for money!

We arrived after a one hour transfer by taxi from Palma airport. We were met at the steps of the hotel by a porter who took our bags to reception. After a quick booking in at reception where we were offered the opportunity to upgrade to a room with a hot tub (not within our budget!) the porter showed us to our room.

We had booked a two week holiday with Thomas Cook on a bed and breakfast basis.
The room was clean spacious and tidy with a patio and garden area. The hotel is set in large landscaped gardens with a central pool. There are plenty of sun loungers with parasols. If you just want to relax and unwind this is the hotel for you.

The majority of the guests were German but this didn't pose a problem as most of them spoke English and were very friendly. There was a varied mix of age groups though they were mostly in their 20s and 30s.

The beach is excellent and very clean although in the burning sun, it feels like quite a long walk! The location of this resort is the only drawback as there is little do to in Cala Mesquida. If you want night life and a good choice of restaurants, we would recommend you go to Cala Ratjada which costs approx 11 to 12 euros each way by taxi depending on the time of day. Cala Ratjada is centered around a lovely harbour and there are plenty of shops, bars and restaurants available.

There are very few excursions available within a reasonable distance of the resort with the exception of a few boats trips leaving from Cala Ratjeda. The Vanity Suite hotel reception staff (in particular 'Steffi') were very pleased to assist us with any bookings and local information and arranging taxis for us.

The hotel evening entertainment was a bit repetitive consisting mostly of various forms of music with a leaning towards jazz music.

The food was adequate but not exceptional and we quickly discovered that eating out in the evenings especially, was better outside of the hotel. We could only locate 2 restaurants in Cala Mesquida and a couple of cafes. Hence constant trips to Cala Ratjeda for our evening meals.

There is a Spar, a supermarket and a pharmacy in Cala Mesquida which offer you most things you might need. English (and German!) newspapers are available at the supermarket each day from 10am.

There is not a Thomas Cook rep anywhere is this resort so in emergency, contact is by phone only. We would have liked to speak to a rep to glean more information regarding any excursions available.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 4017 which is Block 5 and felt we had the best of all worlds. Near the pool, grou...

For a high star hotel with expensive rates we expected more. We arrived with heavy bags and no one offered to help us from the road or to our room, which is quite far for a 6 building complex. No one explained the rooms to us, which are quite tricky to figure out the aircon.

The property is very nice. It's very quiet, but almost too quiet. The atmosphere is like everyone is whispering so not to attract attention, which makes it awkward to strike up a conversation with fellow travelers. We are two 30+ year olds on honeymoon and expected some people our age. We chose an all adult hotel, because we didn't want screaming German children everywhere. But we didn't expect the average age to be 60yrs old. They stop serving dinner at 9:30pm which is early for those who leave to take day trips elsewhere and come back hungry. The place is asleep by 11pm, which is a bit lame.

Our shower didn't work the whole time. It went from very hot to very cold. So we kept jumping in and out of the shower in between the temp changes. Every day they said it was fixed it wasnt until I finally met the technician who told me it was a problem with the entire complex. Not expected at a high star resort. After a day at the beach and maybe a bit of sunburn you will want a nice shower that doesnt change temp all the time and burn your skin!

The staff are very nice and the amount of varying beach loungers is great. However, we never really stayed to enjoy it because the environment is so isolated, non-social, and dreary. If you are much older and enjoy vacationing in an outdoor library...then maybe this is the place for you...just not for us. For example, I am on my balcony typing this post looking up at the buffet breakfast room filled with hundreds of guests and I can't really hear a single person talking much less laughing and enjoying themselves!

Room Tip: The "sea view" rooms are in the farthest building from the main area and not worth the wal...

Viva h, Gerente at Vanity Hotel Suite & Spa, responded to this review, 19 June 2013
Dear adventurejunkee,

We are very sorry that the Vanity Hotel Suite & SPA was not exactly what you were looking for during your 3 night honeymoon stay. I would like to apologize for the unsatisfactory check in experience because help with your bags should have certainly been offered and reasonably extensive information about the hotel and room should have also been provided in order to improve your experience. The lack of resolution of the shower incident was really unfortunate to say the least but I can assure you once again (we spoke briefly at your departure) that this was not a general problem. Our maintenance manager personally checked the issue on Saturday morning, removed and replaced filters, took the water temperature and did not then spot the changes you mentioned. After further investigation on Sunday an issue with the shower mixer valve was identified and then resolved. In any case I regret we were not able to resolve the issue in time and during your short stay.
In regards to the extremely calm atmosphere you found excessive I must say that this one of our strengths and what the majority of our 45 year old guests (average age) look for. I hope that this experience will not deter you from considering coming back in the future, when your needs are of a little bit more relaxation, and can then enjoy a more satisfying stay.

Yours sincerely, Vicente Requena - Manager
