“Very nice”
Reviewed 11 November 2013 via mobile

We recently spent 5days at the viva hotel staying in a royal suite. It was very spacious and beautiful scenic views from our 2nd floor balcony over looking the sea and the hills/mountains. It can get very busy with kids over the festive period however it was really nice there. I think it's still lacking some fine dining or more fast food places and anyone looking to invest there I think you would make a killing. Vegetarian option was minimal as I don't think they believe in vegetarian option lol, people are very friendly and service was average, the place itself is a very scenic and beautiful place and at night it was breath taking as you watch the moon over the sea it's picturesque. Overall we were a couple that enjoyed this beautiful place and would definitely go back.

This was one of our first All Inclusive holidays and it was great!!! We went in the middle of August 2013 and travelled with 2 boys aged 7 and 10.

There was loads to keep them occupied! There are numerous 'Pirate Pools' which have water slides and and shallow swimming pools. There are also numerous swimming pools for the adults!

Food wise - every night there was a wide selection of different types of foods. They had a different cuisine every night - Indian, Mexican, British, Chinese, Italian, etc. cannot fault the food at all. The restaurant and the whole complex is also really clean.

The rooms are also well maintained. There is a small kitchen(which we never used) , 2 sofa beds and a master bedroom with a double bed and also a small balcony with a high wall which kids cannot climb over!! The maids cleaned our room 5 out of 7 days (we stayed for 2 weeks). We had a problem with our air con not working property but as soon as I informed the front desk - it was rectified the next morning.

There are nightly shows for the kids and also for the adults and daily things for the kids to do - there is even a dedicated Kids Club as well.

The beach was also really nice and clean and sandy although it was red flagged for 2 days whilst we there, the lifeguards present still let people into the shallows between dedicated flags - loads of waves for the kids to enjoy!!!

If I had to point out any faults, it would only be these: in the 'All Inclusive' restaurant, the waiters and waitresses are a little too hesitant to clear your plates away! My kids were eating their dinner and put their cutlery down for a breather, however, we had 3 waiters come over in the space of just 1 minute to ask if the kids had finished as they wanted to clear the plates!!!

The only other negative is the presence of wasps whenever you are lazing around the pool or trying to eat outside at dinner time on one of the terraces!! They never seem to leave you alone and we were forever waving our arms around to shoo them away whilst we were eating and even lazing around the pool ( as there are shrubs and bright flowers all around the pools which attract wasps and bees).

One other negative - if you come here with Thomson or Thomas Cook, neither offer ANY excursions! We wanted to take the kids to the local water park (there is only 1 in the North of Mallorca, which is in Alcudia) but were told by Thomas Cook that they don't provide any day excursions to this?! When we travelled to Menorca, they did have day tickets, which included transfers to and for the park and also entry, however in Cala Mesquida - we were told we would have to make our own way there - a 1 and half hour bus journey just to get there ( 2 bus changes) - not ideal with the impatient boys!!!

Other than than these - a perfect holiday.

Room Tip: We stayed in room number 4058 in the 40XX block is right next to one of the pools and the bar!!!

We loved it here been able to use facilities at both park & club meant we were never bored. We went as a family if 4 with the children aged 11 & 7 & they had a fantastic time. The food was great but the vest thing about it was the staff they were so pleasant & helpful & especially the kids club staff they were amazing. The place is kept so clean & I would def stay here again had an amazing holiday.

It was our 4th visit to Mallorca with our kids.
We were before in Viva hotels in Alcudia and Playa de Muro and liked very much their childfriendly concept.
our friends also stayed at Mesquida hotel several times and shared some tips.
The resort consists of 4 Viva hotels, one for couples ( 18+) and 3 for families.
nothing more is in neighboourhood and rent a car is a must if you want to see more then beach and hotel.
Mercadona, Lidl, Eroski ( food supermarkets) are 5-10 km away in Capdepera or Cala Ratjada.
Nice restourants with authentic mallorca cuisine and meditiverial fortress can you find in Capdepera and Arta.
So we spent one week in this place and certainly want to come back!

Arrived home this morning after 9 nights at cala mesquida park....it was the best holiday my family and I have had....this complex is amazing....could not fault it in anyway....a definite 4* complex. The food was fantastic, amazing choice everyday...branded drinks and cocktails...entertainment team were the best...great kids clubs and teen entertainment too....pools were amazinig, especially kids pools. Beach was nice, but we preferred the pools. No shortage of sunbeds or parasols ....you could hire beach towels too...
Not much around , but that suited us...came home with half our euros!
Rooms were nice, although the aircon could have been a little better....but it was extremely hot weather.

We will definitely be returning to this complex, and other Viva hotels.....AMAZING xx
Staff were very friendly....Not many English guests, but everyone was pleasant....

Room Tip: We were in the park, which is close to everything, but also quieter part of the complex..

We just returned from Viva Cala Mesquida Park, we booked it based on the brilliant holiday we had at Viva Bahia, thinking this would be of the same standard, unfortunately it wasnt. We booked a garden privellage apartment which was in a great location but the noise in the building was phenomonal we could hear everything going on above us and next door also the furniture was old and scuffed and the bathroom was really dated with chipped tiles. Definitely not a 4 star room by any standards. After three days of constant noise which kept our children awake we asked to upgrade to the Royal Terrace which is on the top, luckily for us there was availability so we moved there for the rest of our stay. This was a huge improvement and if you are going to stay at this hotel these are the only rooms I would stay in, they are big, modern and quiet and have a lovely terrace with whirlpool. We did have a couple of problems here as well, the whirlpool wouldnt switch off and kept our neighbours awake all night and the air conditioning didnt work. In general I thought the hotel would be of a better standard it felt very crowded and busy and I am really happy we didnt book all inclusive or half board as we did eat one night in the main restaurant and the food was very average, the restaurant on the beach was of a much better quality. The kids loved it though and the staff were very friendly.

Room Tip: If you want peace and quiet definitely book the Royal Terrace rooms the bit extra is worth it.
