I have to say that I expected more of this B&B after reading the predominantly great reviews. The main issue for me was the lack of a proper en suite bathroom. There was a sink and shower actually in the bedroom and the toilet was outside in the corridor. Noise from other guests was also a problem. The breakfast was just OK and the breakfast table was not sufficiently clean. The abundance of taxidermy throughout was not to our taste.

Our twelve-night stay ended, one can reflect on Barbara and Terry's extraordinary gem of
a rustic paradise.
A word of warning to townies! This is not a faux-rustic designer farm, run by downsizing
Londoners.
It is a genuine working farm, run by real caring and warm people, who are steeped in
generations of country lore and wisdom and who somehow find the time to generously
provide unlimited hospitality to all who come.
The English breakfast is a paradigm of farmhouse fare. Organic home-produced sausages
jostle on the plate with crispy bacon and freshly laid eggs.
As long as Barbara and Terry will have us, we shall always go back.
The close-by village of Beckington provides two pubs, each with its own menu.
The far-from unknown town of Bath, is a mere thirty minute bus-ride away.
'What's not to like', as my American neighbours would say!!

Room Tip: The stable rooms are great if you have children, who would adore the bunk beds. The rooms in the ma...

We stayed here only one night and we were slightly disappointed by the little things .......
I think we had the family room as there was an adjoining room with a pair of bunk beds. The room is a converted stable and has only a very small window ( a sky light would be a good idea) and although clean the bedding was a little tired and the mattress was not particularly comfortable and the towels in the bathroom were very thin. The shower, again clean, was not very powerful.
That said the hosts were very welcoming and the breakfast was good - plenty of choice including fresh fruit, cereals and a fried English, the bacon wasn't as crisp as i would like and the sausage was only just ok.
I dont like being negative but it wasnt fantastic it was only very average - and i was charged an extra £5 for bringing a dog !!

Wonderful bed and breakfast, set in an idyllic valley 5 minutes walking distance from the village centre of Beckington just off the A36 very easy to get to. The family unit was very clean and welcoming. Breakfast was delicious, fresh fruit salad and home cooked.
Even though it is a family home, the owners made us feel very welcome and not at all awkward. Our daughter loved the animals (minature ponies to stroke) and the bunk beds.
Highly recommended

Terry and Barbara are relaxed, welcoming, friendly and helpful. This is a working farm so there are plenty of birds and animals, including peacocks wandering around. The room was spotlessly clean and the breakfast, served in a lovely conservatory, is great and uses local produce. It is located close to Bath and evening meals can be obtained in Beckington which is within easy walking distance (try the Forester's Arms).

Wonderful place. Friendly owners and an idyllic location!

Stayed here for 2 nights in the family unit which is separate to the main house with our 18 month old and it was ideal. Child friendly and second bedroom for children with bunk beds or travel cot if needed.

We will be back!
