Places don't always live up to their high reviews on Trip Advisor, but Old Parsonage House certainly does. We had a spacious, comfortable room with some luxurious touches, a great breakfast, and Tim and Jo are friendly, helpful and welcoming hosts. Being of a somewhat picky nature, I'd say the towels are a bit small, but that's really grasping for negatives - Old Parsonage House is a fantastic B&B and I hope we have the opportunity to stay there again.

I visit here every month and sleep as well as I do at home. The owners Tim and jo are lovely people and there eye for detail is superb. I would recommend any one to stay at this spacious and unique gem hidden away in Beckington.

My partner and i spent the Easter weekend at the Old Parsonage House,What a great location, and i must say what a great choice we made. The Rooms were spotlessly clean and fresh, the shower was fantastic, The Breakfast was cooked to perfection, and finally the hosts Tim and Joe were lovely and very helpful, we will be back.
Finally Tim recommended The Local Pub to us, The Foresters, we had two lovely meals their, again a great choice, the food was excellent, the Landlord, Clive and Staff were very attentive and thoughly pleasant.

We have just returned from The Old Parsonage House. We chose it because we had family staying at Longleat Centre Parc and we had day passes to see them and this was just 13 minutes away. The B&B was absolutely lovely. It was in the centre of the village with two pubs a few minutes away. There was plenty of good easy parking in the grounds - always a consideration! The room was clean, spacious with a huge bathroom. Tea and coffee making facilities and a fridge with fresh milk in the hallway. For breakfast there was fresh fruit, cereal, croissants and Jo's homemade plum compote which was delicious and yoghurt. Tim cooked anything you wanted - we had local sausages, bacon and eggs. Toast and homemade marmalade. The position was perfect for sightseeing. A bus in the village went hourly to Bath and the lovely Bradford-on-Avon 15 minutes away. Plenty of pubs serving good food. Do try the farm shop a couple of minutes away. We only found it on the way home! Would thoroughly recommend and will definately be returning. Thank you Jo and Tim for letting us in to your lovely home.

On our recent 12-day driving tour of England, the Old Parsonage House was our favorite place that we stayed. We were looking for a place to stay for three nights while we travelled to villages and cities in the area, and the Old Parsonage House was a perfect base.

After finding this B&B on TripAdvisor, I e-mailed Jo directly, and she responded quickly. Booking was easy, and everything that followed was great. The Old Parsonage House is an absolutely beautiful place-- the building itself is attractive, and the views from both front and back are wonderful. We loved seeing sheep on a far away hill and hearing the birds sing every morning. The feeling of rest and relaxation is perfect to come home to each night after a busy day of sightseeing.

The rooms are unbelievably spacious and decorated in a tasteful modern style, with soft, relaxing colors and high-quality linens. The bathrooms are modern, and everything is spotlessly clean. We stayed in the family room because we were travelling with our 13-year-old son. This suite of rooms was perfect for a family, and it was an excellent price for the high quality. Of course, all the amenities were there as well-- coffee, tea, cookies, shampoo, etc. There's also fresh milk offered for your coffee, as well as a refrigerator downstairs to keep your drinks in.

Of all the places we stayed, the best parking was at the Old Parsonage House. There was plenty of room. Also, I've noticed other reviews comment on the size of the staircase, but it was wide compared to many older buildings in the UK, and we had no trouble at all carrying our suitcases up. Tim offered to help, of course.

The breakfasts were wonderful. There was the cold bar, which included yoghurt, cereals, freshly cut fruit, juices, milk, croissants, raisin brioche, Jo's delicious marmalade, and more. Tim's cooked breakfast was excellent, and although there were several choices, our favorite was the full English. My husband said that he wishes Tim could cook his eggs for him every day. They offer extra helpings of anything that you want, and it was all so delicious.

There are two pubs within easy walking distance, and we wish we had even more time to walk around Beckington. It's a beautiful village. We also enjoyed the lovely drives from Beckington to our destinations-- Lacock, Bath, Glastonbury, and Wells. If you make this a home base, as we did, it's also a short drive to Bradford-on-Avon, Longleat, Stourhead, Cheddar Gorge, Avebury, and other wonderful places. One evening we had a great supper at the historic George Inn in Norton St. Philip. Not only have we seen it in lots of movies and BBC productions, but the food was delicious!

Here was our favorite thing about the Old Parsonage House, though: the service. One morning I asked Tim if he had pouring cream for the coffee, and he didn't, but the next morning he did! He made a special trip for me, and that meant a lot. The day we were in Bath, our son left a bag of souvenirs in a shop there. We narrowed it down to where we thought it was, and Jo offered to call the place to see if it was there. She was going in to Bath for the day, and she brought it back for us! This is an amazing example of customer service to me. Tim and Jo really care about their guests.

All three of us highly recommend the Old Parsonage House in Beckington! We were sad to leave.

This review agrees with all the positive comments by other reviewers, we found the Parsonage very comfortable, the hosts charming, the breakfasts enjoyable and the location quiet and relaxing.

The Parsonage is about a 15 minute easy drive from Bath and we enjoyed being away from the busy city after we had spent the day exploring it. In the evening we popped into Frome where we found several seemingly good places to eat. Our choice of Castello was an excellent one and we can recommend this but make sure you book in advance its very popular.
