it is my third time that i ate at Andrea in Cecina and it is the first time that i stay there in summer, and i must say that even the place is very nice and very suggestive the service is ok the menu was not excellent the catalana is made with small gamberoni and scampi and it is not served as a truly catalana,i was a bit disappointed .instead the wine list is good and you can drink a good bottle of wine at reasonable price they also have a nice champagne list

I hate writing bad reviews, but this place totally deserves it! Previous reviews must come from patrons who don't want to admit that they made a mistake since it's so expensive, especially for what you get! First of all both my wife and I got diahorrea - which has never happened to both of us at the same time - 1 point deduction. When we arrived we were first in the place - low season so must be pleanty of choices for seats - wrong - we were given a seat near the toilets - when we asked to move they said they were booked out - when we left it was half full - 1 point deduction. I ordered the mixed grill - most expensive meal on the menu - 2 gambas, 2 shrimp and a small dollop of octopus - this is not a mcihelin star restaurant, but the prices are and the food is even less - 1 point deduction. My wife had the gambas 4 small gambas - et voila another point deduction - it was also the second most expensive dish on the menu. How are we so far? 4 points deduction. But wait, the wine was excellent and fairl priced - 1 point added. To cap it all of the staff were terrible - unfriendly, unaccomodating and treated us like the foreigners we are! 1 point deduction. Total - 1 point. We went to a place afterwards 4 doors up and had a great meal and drinks and super friendly staff - was an expensive night since we had to go for two meals! Anyways, hope this helps to visitors to Cecina. Enjoy but leave out the restaurant 'da Andrea' and you'll have a wonderful time.

Have eaten at Da Andrea a few times over the years but this was the first time at their new location and nothing has chnaged in terms of the food and the experience. Let them order for you and I guarantee you'll have an experience you'll cherish for a long time. A wonderful fish restaurant in a beautiful location

We have dined here twice with two close friends who are Italian and live in the area and have therefore been here many times. It is one of the best fish restaurants we have ever been to in terms of the variety offered, the freshness of the produce and the skillful preparation of the dishes. The antipasti is wonderful as you have the choice of either "crudo" or "cotto" and are served three interesting little dishes. The pasta with orata and bottarga was also one of the best pasta dishes I have ever eaten. Ambience was lovely at night, we have eaten there both evening and lunchtime and we prefered the evening because of the atmosphere. I do agree with one of the other reviewers that it is a little disconcerting not having a menu, especially when you are trying to both translate and remember all the dishes. It would be better if they produced a small extra menu for the day (as the dishes change every day) then customers could peruse it at their leisure. The prices are not a worry as it is excellent value for money.

Altogether it was a fantastic experience and We would love to go there again.
