“OK for one night”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 July 2008

I just wanted to say that this hotel is located very close to the airport and can save you from risking losing your flight. Beyond that is an average hotel. The room I got was strangely designed and therefore uncomfortable. The air con barely manages to freshen up the room. The remote control for the TV is impossible to figure out. I could not find out if the hotel offers meal service. Internet service is available for a price. The shuttle to the airport is also paid. There is a pharmacy nearby and a small supermarket. The bus to/from Venice stops a couple of blocks from the hotel (1.30 Euro each way)

I stayed at the Titian Inn to catch a 7am flight from the Venice Marco Polo Airport. The room and service was comfortable and competent, but I was REALLY impressed with how seriously this hotel takes the needs of people like me. Breakfast, and lots of it, was available from 4:30am and the airport shuttle (5 Euros) ran every 15 minutes from 4:30.
The #5 ACTV (orange) bus from Piazzale Roma stops about 400m away. The trip took about 30minutes at 6pm. Commuting to Venice would be easy enough.
The nearby Crazy Bar pizzeria was OK and cost effective. The pizza menu was three full pages: at least 90 kinds of pizza!

This hotel was a real find!

In a city where even the public transport tries to rip you off (offering 6 Euro tickets for a 1 Euro ride) the Titian was a wonderful experience.
Large, fresh rooms; a huge, comfortable lounge with well stuffed furniture; a "drinks machine" that serves up the most delicious coffee (I kid you not; even for Italy this coffee was great).

The telephone is charged at normal post&telegraph rate ( WHAT? in VENICE?), and Internet is at the lowest rate we have found. Half hour at 1Euro going to 2 hours at 3 Euros. The time you do not use can be carried over till the next session.

Someone said "cold breakfast"; hmm... yes, but great! And there is an egg boiler, with timer, and raw eggs (or pre boiled).

Many references to a pizza place close by: BUT. this is a very fine restaurant as well. We are not pizza lovers, but this place had excellent sea food - we had a bowl of mussels, clams etc. Very reasonable. Good wines, too.

I had been avoiding Venice because I feel uncomfortable being overcharged. My family and I have been many times to Italy. As far as hotel experiences go, this one was SO GOOD, that we are tempted to go again for several days, thanks to Titian.

Guru of Gold.

  • Liked — Ease of access to and from all facilities
  • Disliked — There was nothing to dislike; perhaps the shuttle service could run when required...

This is a nice 3 Star Hotel. The rooms are "european" small as one would expect. Hotel is exceptionally clean and is located approximately 5 minutes (by taxi) from the Venice airport which is convenient for those that have an earlier departure.

We arrived by cruise ship and it was about a 20 minute ride from the ship terminal Taxi prices have increased considerably. We were quoted $35 Euros to the airport. We paid only 20 Euros to the hotel. 15 more Euros for a 5 minute ride is questionable.
Hotel does have a shuttle to the airport which costs $5 Euros per person. This is added to your hotel bill. Not sure how long it runs during the day. Probably only in the morning. We arranged for a 9 AM departure.

Hotel has an EXCELLENT cold breakfast as reported in the other reviews. Lots of meats, cheeses, cereals, breads, coffee, etc. Superior to other small hotels. There is also a fruit bowl in the lobby. We found the staff to be QUITE friendly and accommodating.

They have one computer station for the Internet. Cost is $1 Euro for 30 minutes. Not a bad deal. This also is added to your hotel bill. There is also a large sittling area for your convenience to read, etc.

Hotel is Air Conditioned but you have to request at the desk that they "switch" on your room. There was not an additional cost for this service. The hotel has SKY net cable TV but the only channels we could find in English were CNN and a sports channel.

As reported in other reviews, there is a nice Pizza place a block away with good food. If you are spending time at the hotel and without a car, I am afraid there is nothing to do in the immediate local area.

As of this date, the rack rate for this hotel (their website) was $130 Euros for 2 people in one room. 90 Euro for one person.
Suggest you book with Hotel Club on line (costs you nothing to join) to get a better rate. 94 Euro for 2 people.Subject to change and availability of course.

All in all, this is a great little hotel and from what we see, is booked most of the time because of its reputation and close in location to the airport.

  • Liked — Clean and close to the Venice Airport
  • Disliked — Nothing Really. The hotel is not close to any other activity or attraction, if you want ot go out.

Like many others, we stayed here the night before our flight home. The hotel does what we would have expected--it was clean, attractively furnished, had free parking and a good breakfast. If needed, it also has a shuttle (for 5€ per room) to the airport. The front desk was efficient and helpful. There is not a restaurant at this hotel, so a car was helpful when dinner time rolled around. There are a few restaurants in the area. We had a very good dinner at the Courtyard by Marriott just down the street.

Had an early flight and hotel is just five minutes away from Marco Polo Airport. Since we had a car, the hotel has free covered parking. It also has a small elevator that makes it easier to get your luggage to your room instead of going up the stairs as in other Venice hotels. Great front desk that told us how to catch the bus into Venice for one euro each way. Bus stop is just a short walk from the hotel that takes you into Venice in about 25 minutes. Rooms were newly renovated and very clean. The hotel gave us free internet use so we could check our email. Since our flight was early, we did not have breakfast included in our rate. Price was very reasonable compared to other Venice hotels. You have to ask to have the air conditioning turned on but it was not priced extra as in some hotels in Italy. Would stay there again.

My Christmas present from my husband was a visit to Venice. We stayed at the Titian Inn, Mestre, for three nights. It is the cleanest hotel we've ever stayed in! Comfortable rooms, pleasant staff, good choice of breakfast and easy and economical access to Venice by short bus ride. The only problem was the evening meal. The hotel did not offer this service and there was little choice of restaurant within walking distance of the hotel. We would not hesitate to recommend the Titian Inn for a visit to Venice but suggest that the evening is spent in Venice and return to the hotel in time for bed!
