“Nice convenient hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 July 2014

We stayed at this hotel one night after getting off a 9 day Mediterranean Cruise. The hotel is located about a mile from the Marco Polo Airport and offers free shuttle service to and from the airport. The website clearly states that shuttle service is discontinued between 1 and 3. We were delighted to discover that there is a bus stop directly across the street from the hotel which will take you to the main bus depot in Venice for a round trip cost of 2.6 Euro. What a bargain! The bus depot in Venice is located just near the Grand Canal and not far from the train terminal. If you don't mind lugging your luggage over the numerous bridges, this is a bargain since a private water taxi will cost you about 110 Euro from the airport into Venice. Bus # 5 by the way......and it will also take you back to the hotel or to the airport. The trip takes about 20 minutes or so.

The hotel is a typical European Marriott Courtyard, immaculate with nice rooms. I thought the dinner in the attached restaurant was expensive but they have a good bar menu. We ordered pizza and wine which ran us around 25 Euro. I will say that the pizza we had (Iberian ham with Brie and mushrooms) was the best pizza I have ever eaten. Just yummy. The service was a little slow but we weren't going anywhere so we didn't really mind.

The breakfast was the typical European buffet spread, 16 Euro per person. There was a lot of variety and you could help yourself to as much as you wanted....so more expensive by US standards but not by European standards.
I would recommend this hotel and would stay here again. It is a good choice as a first night or last night coming and going from Venice. Or if the Venice hotels are just too expensive. The bus runs until midnight so you could conceivably stay here for an extended time but it wouldn't be as much fun as staying in Venice itself.

This hotel was clean and efficient. Front desk staff was helpful and airport pick up service was easy. The airport is jammed with people - where did they all come from - when leaving in the morning. Once you get through security it offers a bit more in terms of comfort.
Hotel has a bus stop right across the street, which will take you directly into the Venice bus station. It is a nice walk through the streets to get to the Rialto Bridge and then on to St. Mark's Square. You can take a water taxi back to the bus station. It's an easy way to spend a day in Venice without the high prices and so very close to the airport. Rooms is clean and has universal plugs for devices.

As our tour was leaving from the airport early morning, we opted for this hotel. The room was
comfortable although basic. The only real criticism is of the expensive buffet breakfast. The a la carte restaurant did not open until 730 am so we skipped breakfast and ate at a snack bar at the
Airport. The hotel was reasonably priced for our needs. We did not find reception staff welcoming.

Dear eebeitz,

Thank you for leaving a comment of your experience with the Courtyard Venice Airport.
Regarding our breakfast is a rich american buffet. For the guest that leave early in the morning we provide a free basic buffet with coffee, pastry and fresh orange juice at bar next to the reception.
We would like to regain your trust and hope to serve you again in the future.

Sincerely,
Tania Vecchiato

We had the exact opposite experience of the last one-star review. Yes, it's a basic airport Courtyard, but the restaurant serves decent food, the beds are great, and the shower is probably the best I've ever had in a hotel. The breakfast is definitely too expensive for what you get, but the dinner was reasonable - go figure. The hotel itself is pretty expensive, but what isn't in Venice? The rooms are quiet - we never heard anyone. We thought the reception staff was great - the woman who checked us in couldn't have been nicer. And the next morning when we checked out, and I decided to practice my recently-learned Italian on the poor guy behind the desk, he was polite enough to answer me in Italian and compliment me on my command of his language. So to the desk staff - if you're the guy who checked out an older American woman on June 30, thanks!

Hotel was nice, typical Courtyard. Dinner at restaurant was pretty good and reasonably priced. Breakfast was not too bad, with lots of choices, but outrageously expensive ($16.5E per person, ca $25USD per person). Airport pick up service was flat out poor. I understood based on e-mail exchange it was supposed to pick up in the afternoon every hour on the hour. Didn't show up at 2PM, called hotel at 2:30 to be advised that no service between 1:00 and 3:00; van finally arrived at 3:15-3:20 although we could have walked to hotel in five minutes if we didn't have luggage. This schedule does in fact appear on hotel's dedicated website if you are smart enough to research and open several windows to discover but took me forever to find on Marriott Rewards site after we got back.

Dear travelswithbob21,

Thank you very much for taking the time to post a review on Trip Advisor.

We are aware the shuttle pick up at the Airport is not well pointed out; unfortunately the Airport management is not allowing us to post signage with directions.
Our website, however, is always updated with the information regarding the pick up point and the schedule of the shuttle transportation.

Thank you once again for your feedback.

From the initial greeting at the front desk, to the very nice, clean room, to the breakfast buffet managed by a very sweet, attentive woman, this was a superior Courtyard experience. The courtesy van experience was also first rate. Many US hotels do not come close to the service standard we saw here. I highly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Our room did not face the street, and it was very quiet. We did not hear any car noise or planes ta...

Nice quiet hotel, near the airport with helpful staff. Venice is 45 minutes to an hour away by water taxi. We ate dinner and breakfast at the hotel restaurant. The food was good, but breakfast buffet was a little pricey, but plenty of choices.
