Adagio City Aparthotel Monte Cristo
Ranked #2 of 8 Hotels in Beausoleil
Reviewed 6 July 2013

First off I must admit that the price of 125€ a night is cheap for Monaco, but the hotel lives up to the cheap price
Negatives:
- The rooms are old fashioned and were in my case not clean.
- The breakfast is absolutely miserable.
- Noisy
Positives:
- You can get a parking spot in the garage for just 15€/night

not a good place to stay. It's about a 10 minute uphill walk from Monaco and would be described as the UK equivalent to a Travelodge. Very basic. No pool, no bar, no service, rude staff....next time..? no thanks

Room Tip: there aren't any

If you're paying €120 a night for a Monaco hotel, then you can't really expect much more than this!

The downside(s) ...
The bed is a sofabed, and not a very comfortable one at that.
Staff are pretty unhelpful. If they say they cannot call you a taxi just ask again (and again) and they will; catching a cab on the street is impossible as its a tiny back street so you have to walk a ton of stairs to the main road and hail one which can take FOREVER. Even when you prebooked a cab by phone be prepared to wait 15-30mins.
To get to the Marina, parks and restaurants in Monaco on foot you need to walk down a few steep hills. Basically Monaco is spread over a steep gradiant and this hotel is half way up. Heading down is ok and is only a 10-15min walk but its the return thats a bit of a killer. I'm averagely fit / unfit and by the third det of stairs I was seriously flagging. I wouldn't recommend it for young kids / older people if you plan to be out and about long. We were only there for 2 days so it was actually fine.

Upsides ...
Despite the stairs it is in a decent location, 15mins walk from the action.
Small kitchen area is well equipped and handy if you want to avoid spending much.
Clean rooms and decent bathroom.

Well first of all one of the worst breakfast experience ever. They have a limited number of tables to sit down for breakfast (all located in the entrance hall... very "charming" place for having breakfast...). On my first day, not a single table was left at 7am in the morning, and just absolutely no one from the staff cares a second to find an alternative solution, or even just considers the problem! They ask whether you want to have breakfast at your arrival and you have to pay in advance. This is what I did, and I ended up buying my breakfast at a nearby "boulangerie".
To be fair, on day 2, same hour in the morning, I got a chance to actually try the breakfast. Choice is rather limited, but bread and pastries are above average. However I am still wondering who's is interested in having some "Rebelochon" cheese in the morning...
An important point to mention if you want to take a taxi for Monaco: there is simply no taxi (at least at 8am in the morning weekdays)! Monaco taxis are not allowed to take persons outside Monaco, and the Adagio happens to be just behind the "border" on the French side...
The apartment was not fancy at all with two major drawbacks:
- a continuous noise coming from a non identifiable source - something like vibrations coming from a noisy A/C unit located I don't know where. Very disturbing for a quit sleep...
- very low water pressure in the shower and a strange - never seen elsewhere - bottle of shampoo (not very hygienic)
All this for more than 150 euros a night makes this accommodation far too expensive for what it is. Monaco is an expensive place, but next time I would rather pay more to enjoy a more decent place.

If you are staying in Monaco on a budget the adagio aparthotels are what you need, they are well located and the rooms of decent size and fairly decent quality. I was due to stay at the Palais Josephine but was moved to the Monte Christo as the 'stairs had a technical problem', an issue I don't think I have ever encountered. So I didn't get to stay and use the Adagio Palais and use the pool as I had originally booked.
The hotel is clean, the communal areas were well maintained and so was the room we stayed in, the location is Beausoleil so its pretty hilly, but that's Monaco, you are still 15 mins away from the port.
The customer service is almost none existent, the staff were nonchalant, rude and I was ignored by 3 different members of reception staff in my 4 day stay. Our room wasn't cleaned, and we weren't given any enough towels for our party size, not that the staff really cared. The rooms also aren't soundproofed so being woken up by cleaners and other guests dragging every item of furniture across any floor reverberates through everything. This could be a great affordable place to stay in Monaco, I would stay here again because its cheap for Monaco but its not cheerful.

Room Tip: if you book ask for a room that doesn't over look the road, the windows are very large and peopl...

I have never been in an hotel like this, I was shocked!!! At first, the rooms were very dirty (my bed was a little yellow instead of clean whyte), without beds!
In the bathroom only a bottle of savon (are you crazy???? everybody may have entered into the bottle every kind of things and I should clean my self with this!!!) and the towel were a little stinky.
Then my room has a big glass window...on the street!!!!!!!! Everybody could look at me and it was like the car were driving into my room.
I will never go back again there, never do it!!!!!!!!!
