I had difficulty looking for average price hotel closed to Monaco, as it is known to best one of the place to stay. Glad that I found this hotel, located at the border between Monaco and France.
It is on France side, with 3 minutes walk, I was in Monaco principality.
I truly meet my needs, basic and clean hotel apartment, with kitchenette. Next to the market, where I could find food. It also next to the morning market.
I enjoy my stay at Adagio Monaco

Whilst I'm sure that this Hotel is reasonably price for the location it certainly is not glamorous.
Although the reception staff very chatty and helpful the Hotel feels like it needs a good clean, with the smell of stale cigarette smoke and other peculiar odours lingering in the air and rooms that look bland and tired, I was glad that we had only booked 1 night.
We booked a two bedroom option which was generous in size however the bedrooms were tiny in comparison to the expansive hallway and living area that was fitted with a small television, dining table and a lounge.
Only good thing about this Hotel is the location, it's situated within walking distance of restaurants, cafes, a nice market and of course Monaco and it's sights.

The Adagio Monaco Palais Josephine hotel provides a very basic and modest accommodation solution for people who wish to visit Moncao.
Room was equipped with very basic facilities, very small TV screen.
Room and public areas definitely require maintenance but are still at a level which is tolerable.
Breakfast was minimal yet sufficient.
The location of this hotel is not bad at all. It's a 5-8 minute walk from the bus station with service to Nice airport, a 10 minute walk to the Monaco Casino.
Therefore, if you are there for business or pleasure - if your main goal is to be in Monaco and you only need a basic solution to sleep at night then this is a good option for a reasonable price. If you are looking for a fancy hotel where you will enjoy the hotel facilities then you better consider another place.

I stay here a few times a year, so know the place incredibly well. I know it well enough that when they tell me the room at reception during check-in I know it already.

Most rooms I've stayed with have suffered a problem of sorts; one summer I was given a room without air conditioning so we moved (no problems there). When given the same room again 12 months later, it still wasn't fixed... (but we moved again).

It's usually minor things that are wrong; we've had a fridge with a broken latch, shower without anything to stop the water going everywhere under the glass, irons not working, doors that don't close properly etc, but genuinely nothing that's actually a problem other than the air con in summer! The worst thing from my perspective by far is the performance of the internet connection; yes it exists and it's free but my gosh it's the slowest you could ever expect in this world - too slow to even dream of a YouTube video for example. There are paid options but I've tried these a few times and they have never proven to be any faster (running speedtests and so on).

So to me, if the internet worked, it would be absolutely brilliant, but that doesn't stop me coming back each time; in fact I'll be staying there for 6 weeks plus next year.

The apartments are all very spacious, they have everything you need and to be honest it's probably the cheapest decent place you can stay anywhere near Monaco; and best of all it's only a 5 minute walk to Casino Square and not much more to most places you could want to visit.

We were fortunate to find this hotel that would take six of us for our night in Monte Carlo. The hotel was very well priced for the position and was just lovely. An unexpected surprise. This hotel was easy walking to all the amenities of Monaco and was fully equipped with everything you needed - including a fridge (which is obviously unusual when travelling in Europe). Definitely recommend and wouldn't hesitate to book again if returning to Monaco.

Room Tip: I don't know that one room is better than another as we were there for such a short time

We stayed in the apartments not expecting much as they were cheap compared to many of the hotels but we were really impressed. Clean modern andequipped with everything you could need, iron, linen, ddishwasher, dishwasher tablets...
The apartment/hotel was just a few steps up from the casino so even though in a different town it was closer than most of the other monaco hotels
We didn't have the 10euro breakfast instead we bought bagettes from across the road and ate them on the roof wwatching the yachts

The best thing about Palais Josephine is the location - 5 minute walk to Casino Square in Monaco which is perfect, 15min walk to beach or harbour and 2mins to a bus stop for the old town, with a supermarket next door. It's also a good price for the location. Everything else was 3 star - the pool is small but clean and gets the sun, but the sun loungers are plastic with no cushions and very uncomfortable to sit on - we ended up going to the beach instead most days because of this. Room was not quite as modern and nice as it looked on the website but it was fine, only really missing a balcony but we knew this when we booked. Kitchen was fine although we didn't use it. The staff were friendly on check in but a couple of times when we asked for something (corkscrew and an extra pillow) they seemed annoyed that we were asking at all. The bathroom was clean, although the shower gel/soap was half full so we ran out. Overall great for Monaco if you're only planning to sleep here and possibly use the pool.
