We have been here 5 times over the last 30 odd years and hope to stay again when we next visit Switzerland in a few year's time. It has been run by the Michel family for many years and it is delightful. It is not fancy or pretentious, but it is clean, comfortable, friendly, and has wonderful views of Lake Brienz. It is just a few minutes by train or bus from Interlaken, and a bit longer if you travel by boat, which is a fantastic way to arrive or leave, as the pier for the village is right at the hotel.

Don't expect mini-bars, trouser presses, or all the other useless nonsense that some hotels provide.

Instead expect a good welcome, a clean environment, and excellent food. Also a lovely garden with tables and chairs, and even some sun loungers.

Thank you Herr and Frau MIchel for a lovely stay, despite the rain, which you cannot prevent!

Room Tip: Rooms on the front have a wonderful view of the lake. Rooms at the back look out on to trees.

      We stayed there 4 night.
The hotel is old but very clean, the location is gorgeous, just few steps from the lake, and the boat station.
Breakfast is typical European, the service is good, the staff is very kind and jentel.
The price was also good, 560CHF for 4 night.

Hotel easier to find than I expected by car, being well signposted from Ringgenberg high street. Very narrow road down but lovely location right by lake Brienz. We had a warm welcome and our room was plain, a little dated but clean and comfortable. Rather a small shower room probably because a later addition to the room. Stair carpet a little worn but dining room was fine.

Kettle provided was a nice surprise. We were given two side-by-side beds when we asked for double room but a lake view when booked the cheaper mountain view so not complaining.

As it's a little remote we ate in their restaurant both nights – plain cooking but tasty – though would get a a bit boring after a couple of days. Good salads, not much choice of dessert. Good selection at breakfast which could be taken outside.

You get a free bus pass with the hotel stay so can leave the car and take the bus into Interlaken. The hotel is also on the lake ferry boat stop so you can get that as well - but not free!

The view and the tranquility (apart from the Swiss Air Force flypasts) as well as conveninet transport into Interlaken make this a good alternative to the busier town.

Room Tip: Lake views to die for

A little late in our review as we stayed here for part of our Honeymoon in September 2012. We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights. This quaint little family run hotel was perfect for us. The view was stunning with the ferry stopping right in front of the hotel. The grounds are very nice with a few spots to sit and relax while enjoying the view. The décor in the rooms is a little dated but that just adds to the charm of the hotel. The bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent and dinner was fantastic. The family run hotel really takes care of its guests and make you feel welcome. We still talk about our visit to Interlaken and this hotel. We hope to be able to return one day soon!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a lake view - it's amazing to wake up to!

You know you're in a friendly place when you arrive early (12:30 noon) and the owner gets up from lunch to see if your room might already be ready for you. And it is.

Seeburg is a relaxed family-run hotel with beautiful views of the Brienzersee, a garden restaurant and a little park-area for guests to have access to the lake and to relax.

The interior is simple and not exactly new. If you're bothered by a worn carpet, this is not the place for you.

But if what makes your stay worthwhile is good service, fantastic scenery and plenty of peace&quiet at a reasonable price, let me recommend this hotel to you.
