“Lovingly restored & peaceful place”
Reviewed 26 July 2014

We were only able to stay here for 2 nights but we enjoyed every minute of it. Lovingly restored appartments, great breakfast in the art gallery, beautiful and peaceful location. Very friendly hosts. We hired bikes for us and the kids and cycled around the breathtakingly turquoise lake. Just great.

We recently had a 5 night stay in May/June 2014. Tamara was very helpful in answering emails prior to our visit and Zoran was a fantastic host during our time on Mljet. The Turquoise Apartment was lovely, just as expected from the photographs and previous reviews. Despite having no car, we found lots to do in the National Park, easily passing the days walking, swimming, cycling and Kayaking. We were blessed with lovely weather! We did find the distance from the village to Polace and Pomena a bit far to venture out by foot in the evenings, bearing in mind the need to beat the sunset, but during the day both were a lovely walk or bike ride away. If we came again, we'd either be more organised in buying food in or hire a small car so we had more freedom to get out and about in the evenings. However, Zoran is happy to cook evening meals when possible (they're excellent) and there is a nice lake side restaurant a short walk away through the trees.

We had a fantastic holiday and could not rate Zoran highly enough as a host and chef!

The appartment was large and decorated with very good taste. Tamara and her family were very knowledgable and helpful during our stay. They interested us to the life and history of Mjlet and prepared for us a delicious meal of local products. Don't miss an opportunity to visit Mjlet and stay at their place.

We stayed for a whole 10 days in June, and loved it. The apartment (Fire) was great, with a spectacular view and just a short walk from the lakes. We took advantage of this and spent time swimming, sunbathing, cycling around the lakes (bike hire from the accommodation) and kayaking, as well as plenty of walking. We didn't meet Tamara, alas, but her husband Zoran was a wonderful host; a genuinely nice guy and an amazing cook (make sure you get him to cook for you at least once). The village is a very quiet place, which we liked, but bear in mind that the walk (or cycle) to the nearest shop is a challenge in the heat as there is a significant hill involved. Another tip is to take some kind of cushioned mat if you are going to relax by the lakes - the rocks could get uncomfortable otherwise (we took self-inflating mats which we were very glad of). Altogether, this was a very happy holiday, and we would definitely recommend this accommodation wholeheartedly. Thanks, Tamara and Zoran!

Beautiful accomadation in a beautiful setting. Zoran and his wife are lovely people and very accommodating. Zoran cooked us our dinner and breakfast. The dinner he cooked us was our best meal of the whole holiday (4 courses!!)! We were also able to organise transfers from the port with them which made it very easy. I would definitely reccommend staying here, it will be the best place you stay in Croatia! Wish we could of stayed longer!

We stayed in the Turquoise apartment which had character and charm with local stone walls and a beautiful view over the tree covered hills, which was wonderful to wake up to and look out through the shutters.
We made an email reservation with Tamara and when we arrived we called her husband, called Zouran who picked us up from the ferry and did all that he could to make us feel comfortable as our local host. He rented us bikes, offered to cook us breakfast and a wonderful risotto one day when we didn't cook ourselves or go out for dinner. We bought some supplies at the local shop which was a steep hill ride away as there are no shops near the apartment. We enjoyed a leisurely and peaceful breakfast on the terrace surrounded by bouganvillia and pomegranate trees.
The art gallery below the apartments is a bonus and Zouran's home made cherry liqueur was lovely.

Great if you like cycling, walking and kayaking on the island and exploring 2 stunning aquamarine lakes.
Being first few days of October, it was the last week before the official winter season so there were very few ferry services between the islands but we still enjoyed sunny days of 25 degrees Celsius and virtually had the island to ourselves.

We stayed here from 21/09-24/09, only 3 days but we would have liked to stay much longer !
Boutique Accommodation had a fantastic location if you like the tranquility and the nature.
Only a few steps from the beatiful lakes (you can rent bicycles for only 10 euro/day). We had the Fire Room which was so nice and romantic. The view from the window was great. Zoran is a very nice host ! Very friendly and helpful. We had a great stay here and will definately book this place if we will return to this beautiful Island Mljet ! Thanks Zoran for your great hospitality and greetings from Belgium.
