I'd visited this restaurant with my friends from KL in early February after reading all the wonderful comments on Tripadvisor. The place is located a stone throw away from the Underwater World. It is not hard to find, as it is tucked in a little corner, past a Hong Kong cafe, down a lane from Cenang road. Could be easily missed if we are not careful enough.
We ordered a few pizza dishes and one pasta dish, each approximately RM30 per dish (Excluding 10% service tax). The pasta and pizza was fabulous! Great tasting food, and the pizza was the thinner crust instead of the typical pizza hut crusts. The pasta was very fragrant and tasty, but for RM30 a dish. Even so, I would say give it a miss as the portion was a little on the small side. Between the pasta and the pizza dish, choose the pizza as it is more worth the value and it is very delicious too.
However, the service is a little disappointing on the night. My friends and I had noticed that we were the only 'local' table in the whole restaurant. The whole restaurant was packed with the tourists, mostly families and couples. HOWEVER, we'd noticed that the owners of the T-Jay's restaurant had been very attentive to all the tourists, but they had never even approached our table. A bit strange, that they did not come to our table to say hi, or ask how is the food, or at least exchange any pleasantries with us. We were served by a very nice Penangite instead. So thumbs down for the service here.
Overall, our experience here in T-Jay's restaurant was an alright one. We would come here again, but be prepared to spend if you intend to eat well. =)
