We stayed for 3 nights on our way back to the UK after an exhausting tour of Indonesia and Cambodia. The hotel lives up to its name as we saw some fabulous sunsets from the beach by the hotel. The rooms are comfortable and are set in a tropical garden. The breakfast room is right on the beautiful, sandy beach and there is plenty to eat. It is not too far to walk into town and Pentai Tengah is quieter than the main beach resort. Good value for money and I will certainly be going back there.

Room Tip: Some of our group upgraded but I was perfectly satisfied with the basic room

Checked in quickly by very friendly staff. Room was large and clean with big bathroom. Bathroom had an outdoors feel which was nice.

Rooms cleaned daily and a safety deposit box was provided for free at reception.

Breakfast buffet was basic but enough, with eggs cooked to order. On our last day we had to check out early to make our flight and so would miss breakfast, when reception found this out they sent bread, fruit, juice, preserves, hard boiled eggs and a toaster to our room the night before so that we could still have a hearty breakfast - a very nice and appreicated touch.

The bar on the a joining beach did well priced drinks and nice enough food but there is a fridge in the room and supermarkets near by so you can easily keep it well stocked.

Plenty of cheap places to eat and drink nearby and a 10 minute walk from the aquarium.

The only downsides to this hotel is the lack of swimming pool and the beach wasn't as clean as we would have hoped, also whilst WiFi was provided it was slow and only available by reception. If one of those was addressed it would get 5/5, nonetheless would still reccomend this hotel as it was far cheaper than the likes of Fragipani when we were booking but you got a lot of bang for your buck.

Room Tip: If you get a room near reception you could proabbly pick up wifi signal in your room

The resort is in the main part of langkawi. You get everything near the resort from fine restaurants to beach activities. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. The rooms were clean and maintained very well. They've got a private beach. Just grab your drink and laze around the whole day:D . Very quiet and relaxing atmosphere. All in all complete 5 stars can be given for this resort

Room Tip: Opt for Sunset 1 or 2. Sunset 3 is equally good but quite small.

Sunset Beach Resort had given us a memorable experience, the place was nice and relaxing; not to mention in touch with nature and the sea is right behind us! Highly recommended for couples or for those who wants an escape from their busy life.

The hotel is located conveniently in one of the main tourist areas on the island. It is walking distance to the underwater world and many shops/restaurants. Many hotels in that area have a very narrow strip of property between the road and the beach, but this place did a great job of turning that into a nice balinese style resort with small houses holding 2 rooms each. The landscaping varies throughout, so it makes each room look unique. Inside the room was quite spacious. We took the family room which had 2 beds very closely connected, with another pull out at the foot of those two. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The beach is nice and the sunsets were great.

The few down sides of the place. There are a few maintenance issues, such as broken chairs and a few other minor things than could be cleaned up. They do have breakfast, but no real restaurant or beverage outlet. However, there are many very close by, including one on the neighboring hotel. They also don't run beach/water activities, so you can get that from next door as well. One other gotcha was in the staff's poor handling of customer details. We had asked for a list of tours they offered, and were given a sheet...which was the back side of another guest's registration form complete with all of their personal information.
