“Great value for money”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 March 2012

Stayed for a week B&B in February and for what I paid I couldn't fault the room and the service. Had a side room with small sea view which was spacious with a small balcony. Room was cleaned daily with fresh towels if required. Location is good with easy access to local bus service, water taxi to Valletta and the Island tour buses. Breakfast was adequate for price paid but the food in the ground floor cafe/bistro was very good and excellent value for money. I didn't use any of the additional facilities such as the gym, internet etc so am not qualified to comment. One thing that really made an impression was the attitude of the staff. They were all so friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. That in itself made for a very enjoyable stay. Would I return - definitely.

I had a good time staying at this hotel. The location is great an it's easy to get out and about on the buses. Bad thing is it seems like the hotel is trying to rip you off with all the additional services offered. A safe in your room costs 2.5 Euros per day which as I stayed for 4 weeks cost me 70 euros! A guy lost his key and they charged him 70 euros for a new one! The gym is like something out of the 80s with only 2 out of the 5 dated machines working, I mentioned it to the manager but I doubt much will happen. It closes at 7pm too which I think is just laziness as its not manned anyway, you have to get the key from reception so what does it matter what time you go? I'll finish on some good points, staff are very friendly and my room was very clean.

Tips.
For Internet don't get ripped off by the hotel, use the free wifi of local bars
There is a launderette 5 mins down the road if you turn right outside the hotel n walk just past KFC, it's cheaper than the hotel
Oh yeah and don't lose your key!

Travelled to MALTA during Feb. to take part in the 2012 half-marathon- the location was perfect when it came to getting an ARRIVA bus to Valletta or st. Juliens. or the airport.
Breakfast wasn't included but at 5,50 euro you can avail of a continental breakfast which offers more than enough- if you don't feel like eating in the hotel there are numerous other street cafe's-/ restaurants where you can get something to eat. There are no coffee-/ tea making fascilities in the bedrooms.

Rooms were cleaned daily, towels were changed daily, Shampoo /soap added.
I didn't have a room with a view but it did not matter as i was out ans about till mid-nite every night.
The air-con was noisy and it did not seem to cool the room down- this could become an issue during the hot summer months.Television was working but if you want the remote you must pay a deposit of 10 euro which is understandable (damage, theft etc.)

I found the staff friendly and the staff at the reception helpfull when asking for directions.

I can definitely reccomend this hotel because of it's location and the staff were always willing to help.

stayed here february 2012, the staff were all friendly polite and helpful with any queries, the room cleaned daily and towels changed, i paid for a basic and got an upgrade upon request to a high room with a sea view, which was great. the breakfast was fine with a varied choice. the location was good within walking distance of local bars and restaurants and shops with good connections via local buses and ferries. bad points the shower was a bit on the small side but dont let that put you off, for the price this hotel does the trick well

Room Tip: sea facing rooms on the higher floors 4,5 or 6 are recommended for the view accross to valetta

Stayed here from the 26th - 30th Jan and just got back today. For the price we paid for the Milano due hotel we were very happy with what we got. We were given a sea view room and had bed and breakfast included in the price.

So there are some good points and some bad points about this hotel that i will list below.

Good Points

Very Cheap - we paid about 19 pounds a night
Great Location in Sliema - On the main road, good places to eat nearby , try Cafe Cuba & Cafe Jubilee down the road for some great dishes.
Clean Bathroom - in our room, though small it was clean.
Friendly Staff at reception - The guy from Serbia was really helpful
Breakfast - ok choice.

The bad Points
The bathroom was a bit small and i found it hard to wash in the shower without banging myself into everything all the time.
Walls in this hotel are very thin and we could hear people in the room next to us talking at night and baby's crying

Overall we were happy with our stay for the price we paid and thought that everything about this hotel was just average.

Stayed here back in July, overall a good hotel in a central location but don’t expect much from the rooms. Just use this as a place to crash at night or to come back to have an afternoon nap. One major positive was its breakfast. For a Maltese hotel it served up proper bacon and sausages none of those frankfurter things or wet streaky bacon which I seem to find everywhere else. Friendly staff. One downside is the amount of students that stay here but this is the type of hotel that lends itself to these things

On arrival received a sea view upgrade. Room was very small but clean with comfortable bed. Had trouble with window the first night but it was sorted promptly the following morning. Breakfast was very basic with little choice but the Bistro downstairs was very good value also with a take away pizza menu. Pity they didn't do a delivery service. Within easy walking distance of shops and cafes. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Good value for a budget hotel.
