“The best cafe I know”
Reviewed 7 July 2014

Simply the best café in the Dales. Excellent quality food and portion size. The bacon, sausage and mushrooms are of the highest quality. Great lunches too, lasagne, meat pie, and very nice salads. Attention to detail is always evident. A wide selection of fresh coffee is available, Kenyan, Columbian etc. Friendly efficient service which is remarkable when busy considering there is usually one cook. Welcoming to walkers, cyclists and motorcyclists alike. Don't forget the cake trolley which will be wheeled to your seat to allow you to choose from a huge selection of delicious home made cakes made in the village. All this and a fantastic views and location. A truly iconic café of the Yorkshire Dales.

Its hard to say how good this little place is. The staff are quick and attentive the views are amazing and the full English is without a doubt one of the best I have ever eaten. I love this place and get there as often as I can and the breakfast never lets me down. Lunch menu is pretty damn good too. And the cakes MMMMMMM! wonderful you will love it

“Fantastic Cafe Excellent Service”
Reviewed 23 June 2014

Best food stop in the Dales with friendly and quick service. The staff are always happy and chatty and i would recommend the eggs and mushrooms to anyone.. Known amongst many as "portions" for their more than ample servings. This is why so many of us return there weekly, to fuel up for a bike ride in the lovely dales.

“The saviour for all cyclists trying out stage 1 of the 2014 Tour.”
Reviewed 22 June 2014

I cycle to this café every week to fuel up for my return journey home to Leeds. Jennifer is fabulous and always welcomes us with a smile and extremely efficient service. I'm writing this to support the café after reading the May entry. I was in the group of cyclists who unwittingly queue jumped the couple who visited on the Bank Holiday. Whilst we may have contributed to your less than positive experience, I would wholeheartedly support the café as the sustenance provided is a perfect pick me up for weary outdoors types. Jennifer is certainly not in the habit of being rude to anyone and strives to do her best to all that visit. It's not unheard of to see an Olympian or two frequenting the establishment too! If it's good enough for them, it's good enough for me!
