Passing through Bedale on market day, decided to have a perambulation round the market stall.
Of course this raised the appetite, looked at several establishments there are quite a few. Settled on a Pich of This. I am so pleased we did, you may have noticed I like a capachino, but on this occasion decided to join my wife in having tea. Don't get me wrong we lie tea, but we could not empty the tea pot, there was hot water to top the pot up, but we never used it, lashings of tea marvellous.
We had a bite of lunch, my wife had the Quiche of the day, goats cheese and caramelised onion with salad and homemade slaw. She loved it. My choice was a Ploughmans lunch, hot pork pie, ham shank rilette, pickled onions and corniche so, relish a bowl of salad, toasted bloomer and 2 types of Wensleydale cheese, blue and a mature. This was one of he finest Ploughmans lunches I have had ever. The total bill was less than £20, impressive value.
The service is not fast, but quality is worth waiting for. We have found a cafe/bistro that will become a regular watering hole on our way up the dale.
Please visit it is well worth the trip.
