Passing through Bedale on market day, decided to have a perambulation round the market stall.

Of course this raised the appetite, looked at several establishments there are quite a few. Settled on a Pich of This. I am so pleased we did, you may have noticed I like a capachino, but on this occasion decided to join my wife in having tea. Don't get me wrong we lie tea, but we could not empty the tea pot, there was hot water to top the pot up, but we never used it, lashings of tea marvellous.

We had a bite of lunch, my wife had the Quiche of the day, goats cheese and caramelised onion with salad and homemade slaw. She loved it. My choice was a Ploughmans lunch, hot pork pie, ham shank rilette, pickled onions and corniche so, relish a bowl of salad, toasted bloomer and 2 types of Wensleydale cheese, blue and a mature. This was one of he finest Ploughmans lunches I have had ever. The total bill was less than £20, impressive value.

The service is not fast, but quality is worth waiting for. We have found a cafe/bistro that will become a regular watering hole on our way up the dale.

Please visit it is well worth the trip.

Hi Ken!
Thank you so much for your lovely review! We've been trying our best to make our dishes that bit extra special, and are so pleased when its appreciated.

Thank you also for understanding of the little extra time that it takes to ensure that all the food is freshly prepared to order - we do believe too that fresh is always worth a little wait, and that it makes for a much more memorable & flavoursome experience!

We look forward to welcoming you back on many more occasions (and hope you like the cafe makeover when you next visit! :)
Best wishes, Lucienne & Mark

After a long day house hunting in nearby Northallerton and finding nearby cafes winding down on a sunday afternoon @ 3 p.m..
We drove on to Bedale to explore the area.

Having missed out on lunch due to viewing appointments we came across this cafe with an open sign on the door and took a chance.

Expecting only to be offered drinks and maybe snacks, we saw the cooked breakfast option and sighed!

The owner and waitress very extremely pleasant and chatty and we mentioned the cooked breakfast option looked tempting but shame we had probably arrived too late in the day to order?

.....Not at all!

Took our order and even asked how we would like our eggs cooked and choice of bread for toast!
Our breakfast arrived (lighter options available) consisting of bacon/ mushrooms /eggs(fried or poached in our case) sausage/black pudding and beans. Together with a slice of toast and a pot tea (coffee also available).
For £8.95 each!

Food was well cooked and nicely prepared.
We cleared our plates and it was very tasty.

Despite being late arrivals we were also asked if we wanted any cakes etc.
Alas no room for anything else!
Though want to try a blueberry and lemon scone!
Soup choices. cakes/ sandwiches/ light bites/quiche etc available

With thanks to staff for the very helpful insight to Bedale and the surrounding area.

Lovely food and a warm welcome, nothing too much trouble and not rushed.

A credit to the owners and we hope to return soon.

There is free wi- fi availablity too.

Hi Theresa!

What a wonderful review - it truly makes us feel proud of what we're doing, so we thank you from the bottom of our hearts! :)
Please accept our apologies for the late reply - we've been 2 very busy bees with service & refurb plans since we took the cafe on last summer - but we're almost there! We hope you'll love the improvements we made in January, and also that your house hunting went well and you're still not too far for a return visit! Best wishes, Lucienne & Mark

We went into this lovely cafe mostly because they are dog friendly on a miserable Saturday morning. We were met with a warm welcome. The coffee and scones were amazing. Highly recommended. We were on holiday so would love to visit again if we are in the area.

Hello there!
Please forgive our delay in replying, the first 6 months in our little cafe has been going through lots of little changes; to improve and revive the space we took on. We really appreciated your support while we're building our online presence! :)
We've just finished our 'front of house' refurb too, so hope that on your next visit back, you'll notice more lovely additions to the setting and service! Best wishes, Lucienne & Mark

We visited the cafe back in August when we were camping at Akebar Park.

We were two tables of four adults and two small children.

The waitress was very accommodating and friendly as was the proprietor.

The food was of very high quality. I took a raspberry brownie as a takeaway snack and it was absolutely wonderful.

Cannot recommend this cafe highly enough; friendly and great food to boot!

Visited this cafe for lunch. Had the best quiche I have ever had (mushroom) with a side salad and coleslaw followed by a slice of very nice lemon cake. Staff very welcoming and helpful. Prices reasonable.
Didn’t apply to me but it seems to cater well for people vegans and for people who need gluten free food.
I will visit again!

Hi Sandra.. What a great headline!
We are super happy you enjoyed your visit, and Mark will be thrilled about your review of his homemade quiche & slaw - did you know the quiche pastry is gluten free too? ..We think it may be even nicer than a standard shortcrust recipe! :)
We hope to see you again, and all the best until then!
