“Great food at the Fox and Hounds”
Reviewed 23 April 2014 via mobile

Wonderful genuine welcome, great care with drinks and a super menu.
Curry was excellent, best I've had for a long time. All food and side dishes fresh and of good quality.
Must visit again especially as I've just read/about the home made ice cream!
Visit this wonderful pub very soon.

“Fabulous Sunday Lunch”
Reviewed 7 April 2014

Found on trip advisor when looking for somewhere to go for Sunday lunch on our weekend away and wasn't far from our lodge. Rang and booked a couple of weeks before and managed to get the last table in the restaurant so definitely would recommend booking. There are tables in the bar but the Inn is only small so noticed people waiting around for someone to leave. We were not immediately greeted by anyone so waited to speak to barmaid who took our order and then pointed our table out saying she would bring drinks and menu's over. Sunday lunch was £15.95 for 2 courses and £18.95 for 3 with a good choice. Staff were extremely courteous and food arrived promptly, all three of us had different starters and all were impressed. For main one had beef which served with Yorkshire puddings and two of us opted for lamb, we asked for Yorkshire puddings too as not on menu and waiter said of course we could have these. Lamb was really tender, vegetable choice and quality fantastic. Desserts amazing must recommend their ice cream which was homemade, I had lemon curd ice cream with my meringue and fresh fruit one of the best I have tasted. Coffee and tea were served with chocolate truffles and homemade shortbread. Clean plates for every course and three very satisfied diners, thank you. The Inn also sells some of their homemade preserves, chutney and shortbread. Would definitely take a break off the A1 to visit again with my husband and family.
