We arrived to the B&B late into the afternoon to be greeted by a warm welcome from the couple that own the B&B. Alison made us a cup of coffee and served a slice of her beautiful & yummy home made cake. Our room was spacious (even with the beds for our 2 children) the beds was so so comfortable we had such a great nights sleep. In the morning we were greeted and breakfast was served from either a hot or cold me use. The hotel was clean, everywhere. The bathroom was huge and as a family of 4 we could all fit in there at once. If you are visiting North Yorkshire this B&B is well worth booking into. The mill is a working mill on a little river, Alison & Lionel were a brilliant host to any guests staying!

Room Tip: All rooms were comfortable and accommodating

We spent 5 nights at Crakehall Watermill at the end of May 2014. It was a wonderful place with a welcoming cup of tea and home made cake on the afternoon of our arrival and every afternoon after that! The room was very comfortable with tea and coffee making facilities and a bathroom with bath and shower next door. Wi Fi was free and although there was no TV in the room there was a large sitting room downstairs with a TV and DVD player. My husband watched TV on our I pad in our room. (they tried TV in rooms but found that some people had the volume up so loud it disturbed other guests)
Breakfast was wonderful with lovely sausages and bacon and mushrooms. We ordered what we wanted the night before and then Lionel cooked it when we came down. Alison's cakes were lovely and we also appreciated the advice re locations to visit on the two wet days that we had.
The B&B is ideally located for the Yorkshire Dales and the North Yorks Moors. Its about 10 minutes from the A1M. There are several Pubs in the location where excellent food is served.
All in all a wonderful relaxing time away.
Thank you Lionel and Alison

Room Tip: All the rooms are well located.

I booked this for my partner and I for a friends wedding in the village. From the start I conversed with Lionel a very pleasant chap indeed, who was very helpful and nice. He also remember my name and information when I would call, I thought that was a nice personal touch.

We arrived a little later then expected, Alison and Lionel didn't mind. They even welcomed us with a pot of tea and some lovely cake!

The b&b has been decorated beautifully. It felt true to the building but nice and premium.

The breakfasts every morning were a sheer delight! In fact after staying at the watermill for three days I become rather accustom to this luxury and miss it now! The breakfast room is beautiful and the set up of the table was really thought out and pretty. The bacon. Oh my. Delicious!

Our room was lovely super tidy and super clean. All to a very very high standard. Wifi available.

We didn't have chance to take advantage of the afternoon tea and cake that was available

Alison and Lionel were absolutely adorable and we're extremely friendly and welcoming throughout the stay. And we liked chatting to them very much.

Would certainly return for a weekend break and have had nothing but positive recommendations for the lovely b&b to our friends and family.

Thanks again for a truly lovely stay.

Daniel.

We stayed at Crakehall for one night and would definitely return.
We were given a friendly welcome with homemade cake, crumpets and tea.
Very, clean, spacious bedroom with beautiful ensuite bathroom.
In a quiet location with only the birds to disturb your sleep!

Breakfast was excellent and Lionel very kindly gave us a tour of the mill before we left.
Thankyou, we really enjoyed our stay.

Room Tip: Only thing we would mention is that the rooms do not have a TV, but there is one available in the residents' lounge.

After reading several reviews for the Watermill we decided to make a booking and Lionel was very helpful.
On arrival the location was very pretty and peaceful, Lionel was friendly and welcoming and he asked if we would mind staying in one of the holiday cottages separate from the main house. We were very pleased with this, the cottage was immaculately clean, very well appointed, extremely comfortable bed- just excellent in every way!
After a very comfortable night we made our way to the main house and were served a beautifully cooked breakfast, nothing was too much trouble and again everything was perfect.
We would highly recommend Crakehall Watermill and thank you to Lionel and Alison for making our stay so enjoyable, you could not find two more hospitable hosts and we are looking forward to returning soon!
