Quite a cramped bar area but comfortable. Went there for food on our first night ,not much atmosphere . Food was good and big portions . A little pricey ,but sort of expect that from what is actually a hotel . There are cheaper items on the menu though .
Went there on our final night .Again, food good. Try the sticky toffee pudding ...mmmm, not good for the waist line ,but soooo good !!The atmosphere seemed so much better . The bar man had a lovely sense of humour , was welcoming and jovial with everyone . When we go back to the area we will return. .

Enjoyed a meal in the bar. Good service and entertainment from Colin the barman, a lovely character. Can thoroughly recommend it.

The falls are well worth visiting, very spectacular. The best way to get there is not by the hotel but by turning right at the junction just passed the hotel. Then walk about 200yds and there is a path to the right. This leads to some dodgy steps, a pets cemetery is over a wall on the right. Turn right at the bottom of the steps to the falls. When you've viewed Mallyan Spout it is then easy to carry on towards Beck Hole and beyond.

Walk down path at the side of the hotel of the same name. Very steep all the way down to the river. Walk left along river path and climb over large rocks to get to the waterfall. Lovely view of the falls and the river. The climb back up is very strenuous and could be slippy in wet weather. A really lovely walk but hard work for short legs!

slightly overprice lacklustre bar meal, puts you off eating in restaurant. but the bar areas are comfortable, if you just want a drink
