“Wonderful stay!”

My husband, 2 year old and I stayed at Greenlands farm recently and we have to say that it was one of the best experiences we had all holiday! We spent time in a number of self contained units during our holiday, but Greenlands was by far the best. Jackie & John we're just delightful and nothing was too much trouble. We had a tour of the farm and my little boy loved the tractor ride and cows!! The cottage is fully equipped- even paper towel and cling wrap! The communication with Jackie before we arrived was clear and thorough.

The cottage was also really well equipped for our toddler with a gate for the fireplace, high chair, cot and even kids dinnerware and cutlery, to name just a few.

In all, we couldn't fault our stay and highly recommend it to anyone wanting to visit this area!

“Great, quiet location, perfectly formed ”

We stayed here for 3 nights, recently. It was a lovely cottage, perfectly formed and well thought out. Wonderful log burner that kept us warm on the evening was a bonus. The dogs being welcome was great for us as lots of walks close to the farm and right on the doorstep. Everything you needed for our stay was there, towels & shower
Gel/shampoo etc all included. The owners where very friendly and welcoming. Only slight negative for us was the wifi only being available in one place in the cottage but we did have good 4G on one of our phones though so we hot spotted off of that so no issue for us. Thanks for having us.

Hello Lesley. Thank you for your positive feed back. It was great to have you here and to know that you enjoyed the quietness of the farm and yet that you were still close enough to enjoy the attractions of Whitby and the coast.

“Absolutely lovely hosts in a stunning location with good facilities”
Reviewed 28 August 2016 for a stay in August 2016

Lovely location on a working farm that felt very secluded but was actually in very easy reach of local villages, Whitby and the coast. There's plenty of great walking directly from the property and there are some amazing views from the track into the farm. The cottages have a clean and modern finish - a wood burner was available but the weather was good enough that we didn't need it (and as the property has underfloor heating this is a luxury rather than a necessity if you come during colder weather). There are three holiday properties on the farm itself and you are right next to the farmhouse so assistance is always there if needed. They are stone built so are well insulated from outside and next-door noise, though it is possible to hear some (faint) activity from next door if you are in one of the adjacent cottages. This is really only noticeable if you're trying to listen to it though (there seem to be three cottages on the property but only two are adjacent to each other as far as I could tell)

The upstairs bedrooms are comfortable and spacious, though the eaves cut down fairly sharply so you may need to watch your head if you are tall. The kids bedroom would benefit from darker blinds, though this is a personal preference (mainly based on trying to get our young kids to bed and trying to avoid them being up at the crack of dawn in the summer). The bathroom is shower only (though clean and efficient) and the facilities arranged cleverly around the skylight window, though it's fairly easy to knock your head if you're not paying attention.

The kitchen is well appointed and have everything you'll need to self cater and keep yourself sane - no dishwasher at the time of our visit but it's no great hardship to hand wash dishes, though a draining rack would have been helpful. There's plenty of space for preparation and plenty of clean and modern cutlery, crockery and glassware.

The properties are nestled into a fold in the surrounding moors so you'll have to walk two minutes up the track or 30 seconds around the back of the farm to get panoramic views - but this adds to the feeling of seclusion.

The real highlight of this accommodation is without doubt the hosts who are absolutely lovely and were great with our kids. Our kids especially loved the couple of dogs on site - who are also very friendly. I would heartily recommend this property for young families who want to make the most of the North Yorkshire Moors and surrounding area.

Many thanks for your review and we really do appreciate feedback. With regards to the bedroom blinds we shall change them for a much darker hue for the start of next season. We do supply a draining rack which is located in the cupboard under the kitchen sink. Once again it was a good feeling to have such friendly visitors.

Wonderful stay in a perfect location. The accommodation was spotless with everything we needed for our stay. John and Jackie could not have been more helpful. Cottage is isolated and very quite but very easy to get to the delights of the Yorkshire moors.

“Cosy & comfortable”
Reviewed 20 September 2015 for a stay in August 2015

The cottage remote in North Yorkshire moors. A very cosy stay. Lovely hosts & warm welcome. Cot was provided as well as age appropriate toys for my children. Wifi worked in a select location only. Shower felt a bit compact but essentially got the job done. Tea/coffee & juice for kids were provided for arrival. Milk isn't & neither are toiletries. Otherwise everything provided for a very cosy & comfy stay. Managed to visit Whitby, sandsend, robin hoods bay & on way home went to Scarborough & Filey. You can't go wrong staying here. Very peaceful with lovely helpful hosts
