We booked 2 nights stay , the welcome when we arrived could not be more perfect , we were shown to our rooms which were very nice and well equipped. We ate both nights and was not disappointed. The food was amazing , can highly recommend the haddock kedgeree , along with the pies and special Fish and Chips. The breakfast was also plentiful and very tasty.

Would not hesitate to stay again. The only downside was the road noise but it did not spoil our stay.

Thanks again to you and all your staff.

My partner and I visited The Shoe Inn for a meal. The food was amazing and was very reasonably priced. The service was great and we waited a reasonable time for our food. Highly recommend this pub! We will be coming back m.

Firstly disregard any comments prior to January 2017, as this is when the new owners took over. I live locally within 2 miles and did not use this pub very often in the past. I had been told the new owners were really making an effort. The greeting was friendly, ordered a glass of wine and local ale asked for menu, it was quiet, to be expected as we arrived at 6pm. Ordered homemade pies and sat in the restaurant, the food was excellent, fresh vegetables, and a real homemade pie, all of it hot. It was very good pub food at an excellent price, we will be back. We were just about to drive off when the young barman ran out with a pullover I had left behind, a nice touch. Well worth a visit, good luck to the new team.

Called for lunch on a Thursday. They have a two course special for only £10 during the week. Great quality throughout made this a real bargain. Decor has been refreshed since new owners came in and they were very welcoming. Menue has a decent amount of choice with about 5 starters and desserts and around 7 main courses.
Location will always count against it due to heavy A36 traffic right outside so would not recommend for families with young children but fine for us oldies!
