“Beautiful taste of posh”
Reviewed 23 December 2013

I was fortunate enough to experience this hotel for business purposes so luckily for me the cost was not a consideration. Fabulous surroundings in the middle of nowhere, a long drive up to the "country house" that really does make you feel like you are about to enter a period drama. The decor is authentically antique but beautifully done, even if the paintings seem a little eerie. The spa and brasserie are tasteful, modern new additions to the rear of the main part of the hotel and the bedrooms are spacious, warm and quaintly romantically english. The food was exceptional and the service sublime. If you want a real treat or want to spoil someone rotten, this venue should be high on your list.

It was lashing it down. No greeting at the front door ,carried our mercifully small bag to the door.
No receptionist. Houseman emerged and went into greeting mode. No apology. Off to our room in the rain which was across the courtyard. No umbrella or assistance offered to my wife as she attempted to put on her coat. I picked up the umbrella myself and off we went in a less than favourable state of mind. First impressions etc.
After this arrival expectations were low, however things improved significantly.(other than on the weather front)Service was good especially in the restaurant. The Spa/pool was stunning ,bed comfortable and all amenities as one would expect.
Dinner was memorable although portion sizes a little stingy.(one scallop cut in half on the starter)Knowledgeable Sommelier all with good service in a lovely room as the rain battered the windows.
Breakfast service was very good. Its surprising how often hotels with starred restaurants don't bother with getting the breakfast basics right. No issue here.
We will return but will ensure the sun is shining!

We were at Lucknam Park in December- it was a really great stay and a Birthday treat to remember ! We had such a lovely welcome from the team; it made this wonderful venue into an all round super experience. The food at the Park restaurant was, as expected, really fabulous, beautifully presented and served. The spa is very luxurious and great facility for this time of year. I would wholeheartedly recommend it.

A birthday lunch for 4, food excellent, ambience lovely, despite the rain lashing down outside, but the icing on the cake was the service, the best I have ever experienced. Every time we needed something, as if by magic, someone silently appeared, when we didn't need them, they weren't there. The surprise birthday cake was magnificent and the cheese trolley is to die for. Highly recommended

We stayed at Lucknam Park in November with our 2 yr old son and were a little worried about not being able to enjoy the spa... The restaurant ... The hotel grounds but although the hotel is very exclusive and luxurious we had a brilliant time. The spa was one of the best we had seen, the michelin rated restaurant of the hotel was amazing (we were a bit disappointed by the lack of atmosphere and the breakfast was a bit limited at the brasserie) and the grounds were absolutely beautiful with good entertainment for our busy toddler (he loved visiting the great horse stables and the kids playground, totally fell in love with the pool at the spa). I was pregnant at the time we visited but we will definitely be back and include a horse ride in our trip next time !

A perfect couple of days stay here in luxurious surroundings with excellent service and the friendliest staff i have encountered. Very peaceful and somewhat magical setting in the country made this a very memorable birthday treat for my girlfriends 31st.

Through emails and a telephone conversation with Ben (front office manager) i felt sure that our stay would be everything we were looking for. He arranged a great package that included dinner and breakfast that worked around our timetable. I found him to be very friendly, helpful and polite gentlemen both over the phone and in person.

-----

The Brasserie is great value for money and amazingly tasty food!

We only had breakfast that was laid out in the michelin starred restaurant they have here but will be sure to try the actual food next time, im sure it would be excellent.

The Spa was clean and modern. Quiet and relaxing.
The treatments were divine.

Our deluxe room was spotlessly clean and the view amazing (over front lawn/drive/trees) lovely furniture and the bathroom? Well...i could spend all day in there!!!

Credit to Caroline (house manager) who runs this place smoothly and to a high standard. A manager who genuinely cares about her guests stay.

We WILL be returning!

Many thanks

Went on the 'Street Food of India' course today. Such a great experience. Very friendly and helpful chef Kesh demonstrates the dish first then you experience cooking it for yourself.

He is very knowledgable and gives you a lot of great tips along the way.

Then of course the best bit is where you get to sit down with your fellow chefs and eat what you have prepared.

A brilliant experience - thoroughly recommended. Thanks for a great day.
