This is not an overall view of the hotel and restaurant which to be fair is superb. It is a review of an afternoon tea which we had at 3.30 pm on Friday 18 July. The service was slow because the waiter was alone and was taking orders, plating up the orders in the kitchen then serving them. The afternoon tea consisted of 1 small scone, a tiny pot of jam, a squirt of cream which wasn't enough to cover both halves of the scone, a jug of milk and a pot of tea which held 3 cups. No butter was provided. Pricing out each individual item the cost price probably about £1-50 for both of us. Price charged £ 18-90. Afternoon tea is a " favourite outing" for us and we have never had less than the above items plus a cake and sandwich each. This was robbery with violence. I must stress we have stayed at the hotel and used the restaurant and the quality of service and food is superb. Just avoid the afternoon teas.

My wife and I stayed one night prior to flying from Birmingham Airport. There were two weddings being catered for at the hotel when we arrived which meant there was no room in the designated bays in the car park which as we were leaving our car for a fortnight could have been a problem. This was resolved by a member of staff moving their car from the car park and allowing us to use his space. As we were leaving very early the receptionist booked a table in the bar for us so we could eat and go straight to bed. When we went into the bar a while later there was no trace of the receptionists booking and the bar was very busy. Fortunately a table was found for us and we enjoyed the meal although slightly crowded. We were not disturbed by either of the wedding parties and enjoyed a sound sleep until our alarm woke us for a 4.30.a.m. departure from the hotel. Two minor hiccups that would not prevent us booking to stay here again.

Went to this hotel on a Great Little Break deal on Groupon, for 2 people, Bed/Breakfast, £40 towards dinner and free tickets to Warrick Castle (or Shakespears House) From the moment we arrived the reception staff were so friendly and helpful, sorry I don't know anyone's names, but you are all brilliant. A hotel is only as good as the staff....apart from the food. The room was lovely, very clean and comfortable. We rn out of milk and coffee and more was sent up immediately, the restaurant is lovely, and there is a lady in the bar restaurant, my age (60's with bright red hair) she is a gem to be treasured. So all in all it was great. I would make 1 suggestion though, the menu in the bar could be a bit simpler, maybe a pie, and cod & chips or Lasagne could be added. this is supposed to be an alternative to the main restaurant, so maybe more basic food would be good, also I love my chips and only have them when I am out.....so String chips are a definite NO NO.....real chips please. All in all, a lovely stay...THANKS

We left our car here and was transported by taxi to Birmingham airport, on our return we were collected ,brought back to hotel and spent the night.the hotel staff were very polite and obliging. Bedroom was good value, although the only negative was I can not get into a bath, even for showering, why all hotel don't have walk in showers I don't know.

this hotel thinks a family room comprises of kingsize bed 2 singles pushed together a pantry sized bathroom ,no room for a cot, and then give two breakfasts when there 3 people, then told it would take an half an hour to cook another. The breakfast comprised of 1 sausage 2 cremated bacon slices swamped in bakedbeans and no egg no toast and no tea or coffee till we half eat the breakfast, orangejuice not to bad though.
check out by yourself staff locked up lounge and went home, get the feeling they couldnot wait to get rid us.
not suprised hotel was empty.
