Description: "The Boot Inn is a very popular eaterie in this thriving village. You are likely to see married couples celebrating whatever they choose with a bottle of pop, as well as younger couples on early impress-me dates. The restaurant itself is beautiful, light and airy, decorated very simply with great sophistication. The crowd is comfortable and chatty. The Pacific Rim/Mediterranean menu is confident and inventive. What's cooking? For starters, try the asparagus spears with pancetta and cherry tomato salad, or the speared tuna nicoise. For mains, you could have the straight forward ribeye steak au poivre with chargrilled tomato and frites, or a complex dish like the spatchcock poussin with lemon, marsala, and rosemary and whipped potato. Very strong wine list."

“Excellent meal!”
Reviewed 30 August 2014 via mobile

When you're practically in the middle of nowhere you don't necessarily expect to come across a restaurant that easily competes with 5 star restaurants around the world. But that's exactly what The Boot Inn does. With an unassuming pub exterior, you would assume the inside would resemble a classic rustic old school pub, but what greets you a classy restaurant.

We arrived early and the restaurant filled up quickly around us, but despite all the tables being full, the service was excellent. The waitress dealt with my food allergies (gluten, dairy and onion free) with ease, we were regularly checked on to make sure everything was okay, and the food came out in good time.

All the food is locally sourced, the meat and eggs are all free range, the game is local, the fish is caught fresh each day from a boat, the beef is aged to perfection, organic wines and cask ales....what more could you want?! The menu is vast and has plenty of options. All mains come with pan cooked potatoes... They actually come to the table with the pan of potatoes and pile as many you want onto your plate
.... With a number of huge potato lovers at the table that was pretty much the ultimate.

Now the food itself. ... wow, delicious! I had the chicken breast with rosemary and lemon. It was perfectly tender and full of flavour. The masaai sauce and the buffalo mozzarella complimented the dish perfectly. The sea bass was also ordered and it was very tasty, it had a crispy skin and the samphire, bernaise sauce and capers were the perfect compliment to this delicious dish. We also had an order of pork belly which was delicious and was complimented nicely by chilli calamari, bok choy and relish. The last member of our party had the lamb rump and he absolutely devoured it. We also ordered a side of sweet potato fries with aioli and honey roast carrots were both very good.

Dessert met the same standards with an excellent bannoffee sundae, yummy panacotta and an insanely good baileys cheesecake with rich chocolate sauce and walnuts which added a nice crunchy texture and topped with ice cream!

Overall we were very impressed with all aspects of this restaurant and it truly is better than many high quality restaurants I've eaten at in NYC, London, Los Angeles, Paris, Greece, Amsterdam, Italy, Australia and New Zealand to name a few. I'd love to come back on a sunny day to make use of the beautiful outdoor area. Highly recommended!

“Well worth a visit - very good”
Reviewed 30 August 2014

A great night, have been for lunch before which was good but last nights meal was exceptional. The service was friendly and professional, advice on the menu good, the dining room is beautifully decorated and tables well set out. Now on to the food - good bread, we had the rustic bread with roasted garlic, I then had an exceptional duck salad with wasabi peas and pineapple, pork belly with calamari followed, just perfect, so full there was no room for a pudding the menu for which looked excellent - will I be back - too right I will - well done,

“Fantastic country pub and restaurant”
Reviewed 29 August 2014

We ate her last night in the restaurant and it really was fantastic. All of the guests in our party struggled to decide what to eat because it all looks so tempting! The quality and cooking of the food was very high.
I also attended a birthday recently in the outdoor Tipi, this also comes highly recommended and is a great, private outdoor space.
The Boot is still as good as ever, if not better!

“Excellent lunch”
Reviewed 25 August 2014

We visited on a very rainy August lunch time during the week, and the restaurant was pleasantly busy with a good atmosphere. We were seated upstairs and enjoyed a sharing sea food platter. The food was excellent, as was the service. we look forward to visiting for an evening meal.

“Top quality country pub”
Reviewed 24 August 2014

...and with top quality comes top price. The pub is cosy, the food is lovely, the decor is twee, the staff are attentive and it's always buzzing when I've been which is a midweek evening. It ticks all of those boxes - open fire with log pile stacked up, flagstone floors, low beams, beer garden with wigwam(!). It's a place for monied Solihull-ites to relax and show off a bit maybe, there's always a few very shiny expensive cars in the car park. You get what you pay for I suppose, so I don't mind paying £4.95 for a pint of Purity Longhorn and £6.40 for a large glass of wine every now and again, it's worth it because it's such a lovely place. If the prices were slightly less than a 'sharp intake of breath' price, I'd give it 5 stars. Also, I'm not sure that the teepee/wigwam thing in the garden works.
