On arrival we were shown to our room we had been travelling quite some time and were hungry. We had booked a meal for 8 clock so just needed a snack. The bar menu in our room stated bar snacks were served till 4 on Saturdays. But when we asked at the bar we were abruptly told that they stopped serving bar food at 3. When we informed the gentleman concerned he didn't want to know and walked away. On returning to our room we unpacked to find 1 coathanger in the wardrobe. The toilet didn't flush and no complimentary toiletries. We went to reception and all the shutters were down and nobody available. Then to add insult to injury we found breakfast was not included and would incur an extra cost. The room was 72pound for 1 night. Was not satisfied. Next morning when we checked out I mentioned the problems we had encountered the previous day.only to be told that there was nothing she could do about it it wasn't her shift.when I asked to see the manager I was told he wasn't available and should phone when I got bacm home.all in all a very unpleasant end to what should have been an enjoyable break. Will not be returning

I would highly recommend the restaurant to anyone wanting good food, nice wine in a lovely setting. I've visited twice in July and loved both Himley House both times, I found the resturant to be light and charming. The prices are fair and over all a great experience. I will be returning!

We stayed here for 2 nights.

1st room was room 12 up the top of the hotel lots of stairs very hot indeed asked for a fan and was given one but it didn't really help.
Room was facing the main road very busy main road at that.
I didn't sleep at all that night. Went down in the morning asked to change rooms and was put in room 18 lovely room two windows you could open and a nice draft.
Room was a lot better then room 12 away from the main road.
1st night we dinned at the hotel and food was great. Couldn't ask for better.
B/fast was great too. Only down side to the hotel is the rooms look alittle tired mould in the bathrooms and wall paper peeling off in places but other then that we enjoyed our stay.

Eaten here many times over many years and it occurred during our visit last night, and we're there again tonight for a function, that I ought to give it a mention on here.
It's a great family pub/restaurant, varied menu, daily specials, Thursday two steaks and a bottle of wine for £23 is a bargain. Food is consistently good, helpful and friendly staff, nice atmosphere. When the weather is good the garden is a lovely spot to dine, drink and while the hours away. Love it, highly recommend.

Good value accommodation in what was the lodge to the Himley Hall estate so the hotel has a character you won't get at premier Inn, etc. The main entrance, corridors & rooms themselves however, whilst clean & well equipped, are in need of sprucing up, look tired.
Good choice & good value meals but fresh coffee needed at breakfast.

Room Tip: Hotel is on a busy main road so rooms at front can suffer from traffic noise until quite late.

- 3 adults and a child stayed in the family room (they only had one family room).
- Bedding configuration was a double and 2 singles (singles were in a kind of seperate room although there was no door as such seperating them). We stayed for 3 nights, went away and came back for another 4.

Room was small but adaquate, shower was nice, staff were all fantastic even when our return booking was supposed to be 4 nights and they only had us down for 3 !!, they sorted it no problem even with a busy hotel.
- Location was good for us as we were visiting in the area

Good points:
Affordable
Although its a family room we only had 2 cups.
Road outside could be a bit noisy some mornings
Staff were always helpful
Himley hall up the road provide some excellent walks and activities

Bad:
Stairs and entry to the room was very dated
Doors and creaking stairs often made it noisy in the room
