We have stayed here three times this year . The hotel is very handy from the M1 and has been refurbished after a takeover from Hilton. It is very smart with an impressive foyer and has very pleasant staff. Important details are poor though especially that the television is inside a wooden cabinet so the speakers are unintentionally blocked off and unless you have perfect hearing you will be unable to hear it. And there is no teletext! Reception were very sympathetic but can do nothing. The first time we stayed there the hot water was elusive and that was because of the plumbing being ineffective for those out on one wing. A lovely hotel but it can irritate!
At breakfast, you need to ask for the freshly cooked items as the buffet is lukewarm and, like all Holiday Inns in the UK, you get tea or coffee served in large mugs where the drinks go cold. Dinner in the restaurant is pretty goodMore
