Popped into The Washford Inn one evening for a meal. It obviously does well with the tourists as there are extensive buildings outside the pub that are used for accommodation. There is plenty of parking available and the owners, who are welsh, are very friendly and welcoming. You can get a roast dinner at certain times of the week and there are a vast number of choices for meals on the menu. The inside of the pub is also large and well kept and the food well cooked and well presented.

Stopped at the Washford as we couldn't find anywhere else suitable. Pleasantly surprised although typical carvery food and no other option. Appeared family run and was very friendly. Landlord keeps a good pint of Guinness

We booked this as a weekend break cheap deal and weren't expecting the Hilton but I must say after our first impression of a bit of a dark and small reception area, we were really surprised at how clean and large the (rear no 2) room was.
Plenty of hot water, clean bathroom and great views out onto the steam railway and fields. Tea and coffee and tv (although can only get BBC!).
The Manager and his wife were very friendly and we enjoyed a great breakfast each day, cooked to order. The evening food is ok (typical pub food) but bar lacked a lot of customers and life so we walked down the road (lovely walk by the abbey and stream) to The White Horse one night and ate there, good food and atmosphere so worth a 15 minute walk.
A great location for getting out to local places and worth the price we paid, very relaxing.
Our only real gripe was the mattress- really does need replacing! Apart from that, ignore any bad reviews, its a clean, friendly and relaxing break.

Room Tip: The rear facing rooms are quieter, overlook the steam railway (only operates daytime up to about 4.3...

Yet another visit and new management Dee & Steve whom we have met before.
They wre very welcoming and nothing was too much bother.
The rooms were clean, tidy and warm. The food was very good and value for money. Good to chat to the locals.
It is very convenient for the West Somerset Railway which was why we were there.
Strongly recommended.

Room Tip: A room at the back is better - away from the main road.
