We stayed here after attending a wedding at Taitlands near Settle (which is an £18 taxi ride away), it was a good find, the owner was very helpful, the room looked newly furnished we had a room overlooking the rear of the hotel with a view of a grass garden and fields beyond. The food was first class. We had a starter as a lunch snack before the wedding and an excellent breakfast which made us wish we could have been in for dinner so will aim to go again for a relaxing weekend. Friendly efficient staff, spotlessly clean and lovely lillies and roses on tables in the restaurant area. Nicely furnished.

Stayed here this weekend with my husband and a colleague as we were doing the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge with my work colleagues. Location is excellent, about 15 - 20 minutes from Horton-in-Ribblesdale for the start of the challenge. We arrived Friday night after a very long drive and were greeted by very friendly and professional employees who got us sorted easily. Dinner was amazing, we all felt it was far superior to that which we had been expecting. We stay and eat in lovely places for work and I have to say that The Plough is up there for food, excellent. We had packed some food for breakfast thinking that we would have to go without on Saturday morning (up at 05:15) but we were provided with breakfast that had been left out for us to help ourselves, unexpected but appreciated. Dinner the 2nd night again fantastic. Breakfast was great too. I didn't find any issue with noise from other guests and had a throughly lovely stay, I would definitely recommend and come back again.

I stayed here in June 2013 with three friends with whom I was walking the Yorkshire Three Peaks. For our purposes it was well located and gave us everything we needed; after a whole day's walking, all we wanted was to shower, eat and drop.

The staff were very welcoming and the public areas are nicely presented. The rooms, however, are not up to the same standard, feeling a bit like an up-market motel. They have obviously tried hard to counter this with a strong decorative style, but it's a bit over the top.

At the time we went to bed there was a power cut in our part of the hotel, although we were not warned of this. As a result, we were woken in the middle of the night when all the lights came back on (probably our fault for not making sure they were "off" before we went to bed) and the room was like a sauna in the morning because the electric heater had been on all night.

We were woken in the morning by the fire alarm and were half-way out of the room when it stoppped. There was no explanation or apology for either the power cut or the fire alarm by the staff when we went to breakfast.

The breakfast was excellent. We all went for the Full Yorshire (not sure what distinguishes this from a Full English, but there you go); special praise for the black pudding and the sausages. A little tip: if you ask for poached eggs instead of fried, you get two.

Dinner the night before was also good, with the rib-eye steaks being very tasty and perfectly cooked. The "triple-cooked" chips were, however, a complete let-down. Triple cooked has become quite the thing and, having cooked them at home with good results, I was expecting something better than what seemed to be a boiled potato that someone had shown to the deep fat frier.

Overall, this place is good value and excellent for a night or two if you're visiting the area. It's not, however, quite as good as it think it is.

Good points:

Very tastefully decorated room (including the bathroom).
Comfy bed
Good quality breakfast
Good location for South West of the Yorkshire Dales.

Niggles:

Our view was of the car park and people walking past, sometimes just a few yards from the window.
Noise - seemed to hear nearly every movement in the room upstairs, and every sound made by the guests next door when they came and went.

Overall

Would happily go back, but would request a room upstairs and at the back (rather than at the side by the car park and on the ground floor).

A very warm welcome from the Proprietor who showed us to our ground floor room, very comfortable, clean, & warm.
Excellent value for money at £89.00 for B/B.
Restaurant very good serving good quality food, with an excellent choice of wines.
Not forgetting a very good pint of Black sheep ale.
Service was good especially it being a Saturday night with a fairly full restaurant.
Will certainly return for a longer stay, ideally situated.

We stayed here for 2 nights whilst doing the 3 peaks. Hotel staff are friendly rooms are comfortable and well furnished and the sofas in front of the log fires were a nice welcome after the six hour drive to sit in front of and have a cuppa.
As for the food, fantastic and no wonder it was always fully booked really 5 star food! Fried breakfast was not to my liking far too much grease but apart from that cannot fault this place. We will be doing the 3 peaks again in a couple of months and this will be our first choice again. Really good stay.

Checked-in early evening after a days walking, it was during the month of May so the fires were lit, creating a warm welcoming atmosphere. After this good start our stay never looked back.

Good food, great staff and comfortable surroundings.

Given how small Wigglesworth is this is not a local pub it seems for anyone, so no 'regulars' standing at the bar giving off the vibe that this is their pub not yours.

If you're looking for a burger and chips pub grub, it's not for you. If like us, you want something a little bit special while still excellent value for money this is for you.

Last point, the breakfast is excellent. Cooked to order with no food festering under an aging heat lamp.

Room Tip: Rooms on the North side have views of the Dales. Rooms on the South view the cottages opposite. Ta...
