“Lovely touches”
Reviewed 19 April 2014

This was our second visit to the Plough as our experience the first time was so good. A really handy location for the Dales but in a nice quiet spot. Teresa is just so special at the front of house. The most friendliest of people you could wish to meet. The food is very nice and the staff are always attentive and warm. There are some nice touches in the room too, Lovely biscuits to enjoy with the tea, coffee or hot chocolate. Dispensers for soap, shampoo and conditioner. Sealed cups to rinse your mouth after brushing. All so simple but nice. Would definitely recommend.

How refreshing to find an establishment where the staff actually care , have a genuine knowledge of the menu and can recommend a wine to go with your food, such a warm atmosphere and the food was exceptional. We can't wait to go back .

Just home to Scotland after spending the weekend at the Plough Inn and must say it was one of the best experiences I have had. Nothing was too much for the proprietors Teresa and Phil and their staff. The food was superb, courtesy of Phil, Front of House was Teresa who was the most considerate person and dealt with all guests on an individual basis and never once looked tired or flustered, a very professional lady who oozes family and friendship towards everyone she meets.

The rooms at the Plough were first rate, nothing was missing and certain little extras were added which only enhanced my stay, decor and bedding were beautifully co-ordinated and everywhere was immaculate. The staff were very professional and their attire was very top spec and their attitudes were first rate. I have worked in the Industry and believe me, this place is superb, wish I could go back soon.

Room Tip: Rooms 1 and 2 were the only ones I seen but both were beautifully done. I should not have been in ro...

We recently had three nights stay at the Plough and we can honestly say that we had a first class service from the very friendly owners Theresa & Phil and all staff concerned.

The Plough is spotless and the rooms are very comfortable. The food is also excellent and cannot speak highly enough of this !!

We would have no hesitation to return there in the future and would like to thank Theresa & Phil for making our stay a very enjoyable one!

Charming roadside inn in small village near Settle. We were made welcome by friendly owner, Theresa, and enjoyed a quality dinner during our stay.
Rooms are clean with comfy king size bed, olde world beams in ceiling...usual tv, coffee etc.
However it's the elegant but rustic dining room with open fire and quality food that make this place!special.
Unfortunately can't give five stars as we felt the cooked breakfast was not in the same league as dinner. and was much too greasy.
Otherwise superb.

We returned to the Plough Inn after having numerous Sunday lunches here. Unfortunately this has gone from a 5+ star to an average 3 star rating. The food used to be top class. I have since learnt that the chef has left and it looked like it was under new management!! Although the price has dropped, this has impacted on the quality of the food.
In my opinion this is of average quality now. Tasty but lacking finesse. The special finishing touches are no longer I'm afraid.
Whoever made the Yorkshire puddings needs to practice a bit more. Dissapointed with the meal and travelled 50 mile for it. I feel that this place will suffer if it doesn't improve. Won't go back because I will always compare it too the fantastic place that it was.
