We had a delightful spa day & afternoon tea here... afternoon tea was delicious & very good price, sat in their lovely gardens. The spa is superb & very relaxing. All staff were very friendly and helpful.

The Parsonage Country House Hotel (and Spa) is situated on the A19 at Escrick about 6 miles South of York. It is set in very attractive grounds and the vilage of Escrick has its own appeal. We only stayed for one night on a Bed & Breakfast basis and were allocated a room (31) in the modern annexe, which is linked to the original building by an enclosed walk way. The room was a good size, nicely decorated and well equipped. The en-suite bathroom was also well up to scratch.
We arrived in a good time to make full use of the spa facilities, in particular the swimming pool, jacuzzi and the four different heat treatment rooms. There is also a well- equipped gym, which unfortunately we didn't have sufficient time to use. The spa was apparently completed in mid 2012, so was about one year old when we visited.
Our breakfast next morning was buffet style with plenty of choice of hot and cold food and the attentive and courteous staff served freshly made tea, coffee and toast.
For our evening meal we were spoilt for choice as whether to eat in the hotel's restaurant or at the Thai restaurant, which is just an the other side of the beautiful church, adjacent to the hotel, or to walk the few hundred yards to the Black Bull. In the end we decided on the Thai and were well pleased with our choice of two three course meals and a bottle of wine for £40.
Yes, this is a lovely hotel in an ideal location for many different reasons.

Room Tip: If NW22's 'very tired' room was in the main (old) building then ask for one in the annex...

Brilliant stay - lovely room, walls a bit thin but went to bed late and was tired so didnt matter too much!
Meal in the restaurant was devine and so was the service. Free wine with our offer too which was very good quality. The sirloin steak was cooked to perfection. And for £20 for 3 courses Id recommend this to anyone.
Seen on here that some people think it is a bit worn inside. I would say as long as the hotel is immaculately kept and clean it doesnt matter too much - but in my opinion it is not that worn! The restaurant areas, bar and sitting rooms are definately not worn. The word I would use was "very welcoming".
Shaower wasnt great in the bathroom but we didnt complain but Im sure if we did it would have been sorted out straight away.
The staff was very attentive and a very special thankyou goes to Georgina - she is a credit to the hotel and worth a very good tip!

In a beautiful setting, only a short bus ride into York, The Parsonage offers great food, accommodation and spar facilities for you to pamper yourself and indulge in some of the finer treats in life. A fantastic evening menu at great prices and served in a fine dining style is the perfect way to enjoy an evening. The full English breakfast is superb and plentiful indeed. Working off some calories in the well equipped gym or relaxing in the swimming pool, jacuzzi or hot rooms will keep you occupied until high tea & cakes are served in the spa lounge. An excellent stay and we WILL be coming back!!!

Room was standard and perfectly acceptable. Clean and spacious. Stayed in a standard room in the newer accommodation part of the hotel. Very good points were that the TV had all the Freeview channels and a 'guide' button on the remote control which actually worked. So many hotels only give limited channels. Also, the extractor fan in the bathroom turned off as soon you turned the light off. This was fantastic - normally annoying fans keep blasting away for ages after you turn lights off! The food was adequate. The spa is brand new and lovely. Really clean, new Precor cardio equipment with TVs in the machines. The spa part looked fabulous with a jacuzzi and 4 different steam/sauna rooms but I didn't get a chance to go in.

We stayed at the Parsonage at the start of June. It's lovely from the outside with well kept gardens. The staff were friendly upon our arrival and throughout our stay. However, we were very disappointed with our room as it was very tired, stuck in the 80's and nowhere near worth £120 a night. Average buffet breakfast. We were staying nearby for a wedding, so it was very convenient, but if it wasn't for convenience I would have booked the Premier Inn down the road for £30 a night!

Room Tip: We stayed in room 26. If you fancy a trip back to the 1980's, then this is the room for you, bu...
