“York weekend”
Reviewed 16 August 2014 via mobile

Lovely country inn....staff welcoming and friendly. Food absolutely gorgeous and extremely generous portions...(doggy bags required) .... had starter and main, unfortunately we were unable to manage a sweet.... Reasonably priced....Would strongly recommend you visit if ever near Huby. :)

“Very Good value”
Reviewed 4 August 2014

An average looking village pub with very good food and large portions. We made the mistake of ordering a starter of breads and olives which then stopped us from finishing our main course. My husband had Cajun chicken on ciabatta bread while I plumped for the steak and ale pie with twice cooked chips. Lovely. We would happily eat here again when in the area.

“Girly tea & catch up”
Reviewed 25 June 2014

Came Saturday evening had a table for 5 booked at 7pm. Was very dark upon entering the bar area but as we went towards our table which was at the back in the conservatory , it was much lighter & brighter.
Great selection of food on menu for both meat eaters & vegetarians . Everyone was excited about their choices and we enjoyed a catch up while we waited . This was probability why we didn't realise how long our wait was, even more so because there was only another group in the restaurant. Once food finally arrived we were all amazed by the huge portions ( one friend got a doggy bag because of its size!!)
Everyone thoughly

“RESTAURANT”
Reviewed 16 June 2014

Poor serviced. Food not good and service seemed very disorganised. It is an old pup so as much as it was comfortable enough I would not recommend.

Hi there Sarah, can i firstly apologise for any disappointment you may have experienced whilst at The New Inn. As you can see from previous entries our normal standard is a lot higher than you were delivered and for that I can only apologise.

We are currently training up some new staff and I know this does not excuse your poor experience but I hope it goes someway to explaining it.

Next time you are in the area please feel free to call on us again and I hope that you will have a better meal

“Great fish and chips”
Reviewed 14 June 2014

After visiting the York Bird of Prey Centre we drove into Huby for some lunch. It was quiet but the staff were very friendly and welcoming. We ordered fish and chips with homemade tartar sauce. We couldn't believe the portion size!! It tasted beautiful, was very fresh and hot.
