Highly recommend The Red Lion for accommodation, food and service. The staff were friendly and attentive upon arrival and I was shown to my room which was compact, clean and very tastefully furnished. I had an evening meal which was amazing, food was fresh and cooked to perfection, the waiting staff made you feel welcome and provided excellent service. I was told that the Red Lion had been refurbished recently and I can vouch for its modern yet welcoming feel. I would definitely recommend staying at The Red Lion with the comfortable rooms, excellent food and fantastic staff makes this place is good value for money.

Good food, all three courses, excellent guest beers and the coffee at the end of the meal was excellent. Thank you Joel the chef. Just a couple of minor comments, more veg variety with the mail course would have been nice, as a side possibly. Service was also excellent as was the atmosphere. Highly recommended.

The menu is interesting and our meals were cooked well. The fish was fresh and for the price we had a good meal. If I had to criticise the red lion, I would say in the summer evenings when the fires are unlit, it lacks a warm atmosphere. A few curtains instead of the stark blinds might have helped. I realise that the owners probably want a contemporary feel to the building but I feel with just a small amount of attention to a cosy/warm feeling they could have a dining winner on their hands if standards are maintained. Add an interesting salad for ladies to lunch on and I also think that would be useful.

We went here for Sunday lunch, which was OK - beef was very tough & grizzly & the waitress gave us steak knives! Rest of meal was Ok. I went to the ladies as we arrived & there was no loo roll, I informed a member of staff about this. When I went back at the end of the meal, it still hadn't been replaced. A week later we stayed in one of the rooms. We had been informed we couldn't have dinner as there was a large booking & the restaurant was full - fine. The room was nicely decorated & clean. There were no toiletries & the fluffy towels were a bit hard. The large booking turned out to be a full on loud party. The music was EXTREMELY loud. At 11.30pm, we asked the manager if the music could be turned down a bit, he refused. Their music licence is until 00.30. At 1.00 am we went & asked again & the manager refused. It stopped at 1.20. At 1.40 the smoke detector went off for the 4th time. It is very loud & you would certainly awake & escape from any fire. We were asked what time we would like breakfast, preferably not too early as chef wants a few drinkies after work the night before! Breakfast was nice, but only if you wanted a full English. No choice of continental. This place could be wonderful - with management who cared. The refurb is amazing.

We stayed here one night when visiting relatives in Market Rasen and would definitely recommend.

The rooms are compact but beautifully decorated with nice furnishings and a fantastic wet room. Quality toiletries and plenty of towels. Only complaint would be that there is no where to hang anything up. Although there was adequate cupboard space even just a few hooks with some wooden hangers would have been enough. Coats had to be put on the floor.

Breakfast was fabulous - no continental option or choice of what we wanted but the full cooked breakfast we were presented with was fantastic. Beautifully presented with a range of good quality food items. Served in the pub with its quirky range of antique furniture in a contemporary setting it was a wonderful way to start the day.

Staff were friendly, helpful and we would definitely stay here again and recommend. This is definitely not just a village pub with rooms - its a lovely experience.

Have eaten there twice and had a fantastic meal on both occasions, would highly recommend this as the place to eat in Market Rasen, high quality food at realistic prices.

Went out for dinner as we had the builders in. Really impressive. Five choices for each course. All freshly cooked to a surprisingly high standard. Dinner for two with drinks for less than fifty quid.
I'll be going back.
