Just had one of their afternoon teas for two and thoroughly recommend it.
Sandwiches which melted in the mouth/moist fruit loaf/crumbly scones with cream and jam/fresh cream cakes and butterfly buns - the latter in a box to take to the grandchildren!!
The people were excellent too.
Go on - enjoy yourselves!

Have been coming to this hotel since it opened in 1998 and it continues to improve and impress. Stayed here with family and booked a suite and a classic room. Greatly appreciated the upgrade from classic to luxury.
All staff very friendly and helpfull, food excellent.
Thanks again to Loiuse and staff for another memorable visit.

Overall we had a nice stay. However, anglers should be aware that the lake is realistically unfishable from most of the banks except in winter due to weed growth and shallow margins. Surroundings were excellent with great views of lake. Service is not top notch and we had some gripes about the standard of the 'luxury' room and a considerable list of other more minor criticisms. However, I have to say the manager was very receptive to our comments and I hope that many of them will be addressed in the near future. So, hopefully, this will become a very pleasant place to stay. Still not sure whether allowing dogs is such a good idea though (unless you own a dog of course).

My wife - who is disabled - and I had the pleasure of staying at the Coniston recently.
We could not of wished for a better Hotel . The room designed for disabled guests was ideal and the cleanliness was beyond reproach. All the staff were so very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent.

I stayed at this hotel as part of a the bridal party, when we had gone prior to wedding we were shown both types of rooms and clearly shown a nearly refurbished luxury room so I went ahead and booked one, sadly we were given an old style room, which was disappointing after seeing one of the newly done rooms, lots of space and beautiful terrace but feels these should not be priced the same as the newly refurbished rooms!

Other than that the place is great, beautiful setting, the public parts of the hotel are stunning and the staff are attentive and polite and they made my best friends wedding a day to remember.

Had a lovely 3 nights stay. Huntsman lodge is a lovely room to dine in, we had a beautiful evening meal there. I was disappointed with our room though, it wasn't so clean, the bed spread was stained, black mark on cushion and cob webs in the bathroom. This didn't spoil our stay but I was surprised after I had read all the positive review.

We have just returned from a two night stay at the Coniston Hotel and cannot praise it highly enough. We were looking far a dog friendly hotel in the Skipton area(The Coniston Hotel is about fifteen minutes drive from Skipton) I came across their website on the internet, I rang to check on a couple of details and booked for our stay. From the minute we arrived everything was perfect, from our booking in at reception to our room, the restaurant, and the 1400 acre on which The Coniston Hotel rests. There are wonderful walks around the estate with lots of wildlife and activities(The Falconry Centre, clay pigeon shooting and Land Rover experience)

To us however, there were three things that made our stay perfect 1. The Staff, who were so friendly, helpful and clearly enjoyed their work and 2. The fact that The Coniston is so dog friendly, even allowed in one of the restaurants 3.The food served in the restaurant is excellent, It was so nice to have our breakfast cooked to order rather than serving yourself buffet style. We cannot wait to return.

Room Tip: We had a superior room, but all rooms looked excellent
