Had great roast beef sandwiches and chips for lunch here yesterday. They even have an area set aside where they don't mind you taking your dog in! I know some people don't like dogs but the idea of having most of the areas dog free and a part where dogs are welcome is great for us. The food was lovely and because our dog could come and sit with us, we were more relaxed. Beef was fantastic and the chips were lovely too!

We love pizza express style pizzas, but these were amazing! Light and crispy, with lovely toppings. Our waitress on Wednesday last week was so accommodating, and she was obviously rushed off her feet. We booked for 7pm for 4 of us and thank god we did as it was heaving. Thank you!

We stopped here for a big dinner, meeting all the rest of the family as a special event during our C2C walk. One of our family is the user of a large power wheelchair so I was anxious about access - the Horseshoe wasn't exactly built last week so you can't necessarily expect the very latest in ramps/lifts/door widths/etc! However, they were absolutely charming and very helpful about access and with a tiny bit of willing furniture-shifting we were not only able to have a great dinner there but even get into the bar first for a drink - and that believe me is not always the case.

Dinner was delicious - we were at a vast family table in the very nice dining room and there's an interesting and sometimes witty menu. Service was attentive but not obtrusive and the bill was fantastically reasonable for a good meal for a horde of people.

Top marks and big thank yous for a lovely evening and for the helpful, flexible attitude.

Note: Just to be clear, this is about The Horseshoe Hotel in Egton Bridge, right by the stepping stones, and NOT Ye Horseshoe Inn in Egton. I fear there is some confusion creeping in here but check the postcode - the Egton Bridge one is YO21 1XE.

I have found this pleasant hotel's bar/restaurant difficult to categorize, it is better than average but does not, n my view, rate the category of very good. There are however, many good points. The location is good, situated by the river, and I suspect very pleasant on a summer's day. We lunched here on a dull, wet January day. There was a pleasant welcome and a cheering fire in the bar, which would benefit from some refurbishment.

The menu offers a good choice of interesting dishes and there is a reasonable choice of wine by the glass and bottle. The food and wine that we ordered was acceptable and both food and wine were good value for money.

There is a car park.

I would consider eating here again.

This pub serves lovely food which can be taken outside weather permitting in a setting at the top of the North Yorkshire Moors in a lovely village. Very handy for visiting the North Yorkshire Moors Railway at Levisham which is down in the next valley. A gem.
