We arrived at 5pm and had booked a meal for 6.30pm, only to be told that there were no meals and no chef. So we had to drive to other places, one 20 minutes away, one slightly nearer. The young man on reception should have offered to find and book an alternative but instead we were given a list and left to get on with it. As it turned out, The Chives was very good and we had a lovely meal. The other place we went to was poor. However the room was quiet and we slept well. Breakfast was good - no complaints. We were not warned that there was no evening meals.

Room tip: If you want to eat, make sure there's a chef!

Following an issue with accommodation we had booked elsewhere for a break we ended up needing to book an alternative at short notice having already arrived in Norfolk. Kieran at the Kings Head was very helpful booking us a room, suggested somewhere we would be able to get some dinner en route and waited for us to arrive beyond the end of his shift.
The staff in the morning were also friendly and served us a good breakfast.
Overall good value for money and we appreciate the service we received.

We've stayed at this hotel before and liked the room and the food. We were due to stay again this month, but the hotel says they've stopped serving evening meals due to staffing issues. There is nowhere else to eat in the village, and they suggested a restaurant in Hunstanton which would have been a 20 mile round trip each evening. This is not a cheap hotel and is now missing an important amenity. We didn't fancy driving out to eat, nor a picnic in our room, so we decided to cancel. The hotel refunded the deposit immediately. I wish them well in sorting out the restaurant.

We stayed for 3 nights and were extremely disappointed. It was a soul-less place with no atmosphere and could not serve evening meals due to lack of staff. The breakfasts weren’t brilliant and service poor. Our room was fine with a very comfortable large bed. We won’t be returning sadly.

We decided to go for a walk using the kings head hotel as a half way for lunch
Having checked their web site it said open all year round
When we got there they just said sorry we are not doing food on bank holiday Monday
No signs up out side
Very disappointed will not go there again

Room tip: Think twice covid seems to be the cause or is it just laziness by management
