This place looks very stylish; the decor is very modern and trendy. The service was very slow despite the fact that the restaurant was half empty. After waiting an hour for starters, they arrived with our mains: cheese fondue served with sausages and mash was a weird combo.

Bearing in mind the excellent restaurants in and around Ashford, I wouldn't choose this restaurant again.

My first visit to The Kings Head with my family ( who have recently moved into the village) for my birthday dinner on 30th May. 5 star service and 5 star food. There is a warm ambience here as soon as you enter. The staff are very attentive but not overbearing - just right. There is an extensive menu with extra daily specials - something for every taste and the portion size is generous. Our party of four chose mains of fish pie, lamb burgers and belly pork - all delicious and beautifully presented. The desserts were equally tempting and the cheeseboard with several local cheeses was tastefully presented with crackers, celery, grapes and relish. We shall definitely return again and again. Booking essential!!

Just delicious. We had evening meal, cooked breakfast & Suday lunch-all to die for. The decor and style of the place was full of rustic charm-just perfect

This was our first visit to Kent and we will certainly be going back! Arrived late afternoon on a Sunday and checked into our family room which was a perfect size for a family of 4 with small children (4 year old and 2 year old in a travel cot). The rooms have a boutique hotel feel with little attention to details such as the bathrobes hanging in the room.
The bar felt very welcoming and relaxed and they were happy to cater for the children with yummy organic apple juice and colouring pens and pictures.
We had a really delicious evening meal - chicken with lemon and tarragon risotto for me and pork belly with black pudding mash for my husband (he absolutely loved this), the kids had fish and chips from the children's menu which they thoroughly enjoyed. They also loved the ice-cream!! I can highly recommend the rose wine which was suggested to me to try by one of the owner's, I need to find out the name!!
Our overnight stay was great, the beds were very comfortable and the room layout was just right for our family.
Breakfast the next morning was good, we tailored the breakfast for our children and the chef was happy to cook what we requested.
We went out to explore the following day and ended up at the seaside in Hythe which was only 20 minutes drive, there seems to be lots of family friendly attractions close by which we would like to try on our return.
We would highly recommend The Kings Head whether you are a local looking for a relaxed restaurant for a delicious evening meal or a family looking for somewhere a bit different to stay and explore the beautiful Kent countryside. A beautiful pub in an area of outstanding natural beauty!

We really enjoyed our food at the Kings Head. The burger and lamb were delicious and the chips were really good. Staff were friendly and helpful. The service was good and the menu reasonably priced.
