We were surprised that the tour of the the gardens was free but discovered that they were okay but not up to their usual standard. This was apparently due to the poor weather at the start of the
year, a reason given to us at other gardens.
However, we felt that it was worth a visit and this was enhanced by the afternoon meal that we had in the tea-room. The sandwiches, scones and cake were excellent! Overall it was it was a very enjoyable visit.
