This hotel is dirty, smelly and simply awful. I think I've picked up a fungal infection..and this isn't a joke. Two nights of stench......can't believe any public health officer or inspector would pass it as acceptable. The black gunge, spore's and damp round the window....stained sheets and leaking utilities. Not nice......stay clear.

The receptionist was lovely, the night porter was asleep, and the chef needs a cooking lesson. Our hotel room was o.k. not exactly clean and not really dirty a vacuum and dust would have helped. The bathroom was a disgrace, half dirty peach tiles and half barely hanging on white, dirty stained floor, missing tiles, and a very old stained peach suite. We didn't take a shower as it was pitiful and were worried we would come out dirtier. he breakfast was toast or cereal, nothing continental in sight and really strong burnt coffee and weak tea, tasting of fish. We ordered the full English and decided they would need to pay me to eat it, its a £2 extra, which they refunded.

I booked the room for £20 originally, but had to cancel because of floods, I booked as again and agreed to pay £29 extra The room was worth £20 just, so when no-one mentioned the extra £29 I decided to not o complain £20 was ok. I have just checked my bank statement and they have charged me the £29 without my consent, and have no rung me back o discuss it, needless to say the manager isn't in everytime I phone, this has cost me £30 in bank charges and a very bad taste in my mouth, nearly as bad as breakfast

If you get the room for £20 and are only going to sleep, then if you have no other option, risk it, under any other STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!

PROs: The lobby, reception area and breakfast room were well-maintained and inviting. Our guest room was dusted and the bathroom looked clean. Sheets and towels seemed clean. Updated bathroom flooring. Large bedside tables. Free Wifi access and reasonable prices for use of business center. Free parking with plenty of spaces. Continental breakfast included.

CONs: No lift so I had to carry my heavy bag step-by-step up the stairs alone while the reception staff simply sat there watching. Only one set of keys for the room when there were clearly two guests. The carpet was matted, dingy and stained. The window's glass in the guest room was so thin that the cold and constant road noise kept me awake. Air in the water pipes caused the radiators to gurgle loudly quite frequently (which was rather distracting) and caused the bathroom taps to randomly burst a load of water while in use. This was disconcerting about the condition of the water and pipes while brushing teeth/washing hands. The shower randomly vacillated between very hot and very cold which increased the length of my shower since I spent 1/2 the time waiting for the water to resume a more reasonable temperature for bathing. It's surprising that a commercial use facility would not limit the temperature for it's hot water settings on both the vanity sink and shower to prevent scalding guests accidentally. A hook or shelf in the bathroom would've been helpful so I wouldn't have had to choose to put my clothes/toiletries on either the toilet or the floor. The tub siding wasn't attached to the tub but merely leaning up against the side of it as though the bathroom was in the middle of a renovation project. Wifi password was not listed anywhere in the guest room.

Stayed at hotel on the 21/2/14 until 23/2/14 visiting son in Bristol. Firstly the checking in was efficient ,I asked about breakfast to be told a cooked breakfast would be £ 2 for each morning extra, quite strange has I had booked room with breakfast.
The room was dated, the shower was a mixer tap which was terrible, hard to turn off .The mirror (with a light) was on the opposite wall from the sink ,which was a hindrance when shaving.
The noise from the motorway was not too bad. The window in the room needed sealing and the wind whistled through the gap
If you want a cheap(£115 for two nights ) budget hotel this is for you...
on the plus side the staff were very polite and the continental breakfast was very fresh ..

Room Tip: Close to Bristol city centre but quite remote if you have no transport...

So...lots of sniffy reviews on here from people who pay budget prices!

In summary - no its not the hilton and yes its a little jaded around the edges. In essence, to me, its a cheap contractors hotel (ideal for me) for those at aztec and other business parks near by.

The room is adequate for me as a contractor, yes disappointed no restaurant as the bar food is also limited.

I did eat at the swan next door - bit again that wasn't impressive, just more expensive.

If you want to pay Hilton prices, well then there is one just down the road - but at nearly twice the price, I'm sure your welcome to it!

we booked a 1 night stopover and had a nice room albeit very warm.no food available but a nice pub next door with a quirky menu and presentation. slept very well and a fairly good continental breakfast. you could also upgrade to cooked brekkie for just£2.very close to m5 but no noise.

This is a no frills jolly decent place to rest your head.
Family run often means big budgets are not available for upkeep and it shows. But then it does not pretend to be anything else.
It is warm, comfortable and clean. And so convenient for the M4 and M5 and North Bristol.
The staff were friendly and efficient. Breakfast was also basic (not continental) just cereal, toast grapefruit and fruit juice but filling.English breakfast was available for £2.00
Bring your own soap though!

Room Tip: Room numbering is a bit odd. Quiet rooms are to the rear but ask for room 12 to benefit from lobby W...
