“Too nervous to sleep!”
Reviewed 17 May 2014

hmm.. the price probably says it all - the nearest Premier Inn was fully booked - £89 per night and as we were on a budget we went for the £54 at the Almondsbury Interchange. This is a great location off the M4 - so easy to find - but they could do so much more with the site! The old house near the car park is not a great advert and the car park itself is not good. Receptionist was friendly enough... got to the room but concerned that once we were in - was it was secure as the door locks did not seem to work and there were no instructions on how to lock the door. Also - there were no fire instructions so worried that if there was a fire then how would we know what do to - thought that was a basic requirement which should be posted on the inside of the door. The TV - as previous reviews have said - was 1980's style although it did work and I did get the channel I wanted! Bathroom basic although we got hot showers in the morning. Basic continental breakfast included in the price - juice, coffee/tea/cereals and toast. Probably wouldn't go there again.

I had to stay at the hotel as I was doing some business training in the area and this was the cheapest and closest place to where I needed to get.
I really don't know why the owners don't renovate the hotels it would be the best located place. From the moment I walked in the room I was just speechless. It felt like going back in time, the telly was ones of those huge old affairs but it did work. There are stains on the wall from who knows what, and the hotel stinks. The kettle had water with limescale floating in it and it was probably about 10 years old. The beds were terribly soft and uncomfortable. I had no telephone in the room so I couldn't ring reception to ask for a bar of soap as I got none in the bathroom!! They actual decor is absolutely terrible. The curtains and carpets are old, worn and completely outdated. The bathroom was just horrendous. It looked like an old movie, the toilet was dirty with stains inside and the shower I didn't actually bother with in the end! It would have taken about 40 minutes to wash your hair because the pressure was so bad! The shower was also broken and it was difficult to turn it on or off.
The fire door kept banging all night because it didn't fit the door frame. The window didn't shut properly so I had the heater on all night.
I could go on and on about the faults as I can't think of any positives. By far the worst hotel I've ever stayed in, don't do it to yourself unless you are on an extreme budget. Saying that I don't think the room was worth £48..!
The staff were great, the receptionist was on the weight watchers website when she didn't realise anyone was around her, but she was friendly and sorted any problems promptly.

My partner and i stayed here last night and will not be doing so again. The room was jaded with dirty carpets, sheets that did not fit the bed and possibly the thinnest duvet you have even seen, the room and corridor outside stank of bleach The tv was a throwback from the 70's and did not work very well. The tea and coffee making facilities were basically a kettle and few sachets of coffee, tea bags etc. When you poured out the water you got bits of scale. The bathroom was very dirty and the shower was an absolute joke, The Night Receptionist and the Morning Receptionist both need lessons in Customer Service. The Lounge Bar had a very limited supply of drinks, only one beer and one lager and the only mixers were lemonade or tonic water. My Partner had to go in search of the Barman and then got a stroppy welcome from the Receptionist who told him to wait a minute. I would not recommend this Hotel to anyone.

WARNING !!
You have to pay on arrival !!!
All looks good at the front desk , how deceiving is this !
The room smelt awful, dirty stained brown carpet with three large patches sewn onto original old part ! very old small stained cups with teas maid , four large screws sticking out the wall near the bed where I guess the trouser press was removed , Enormous old TV didn't work , no internet , awful view onto a pile of old scrap toilets ,baths ,planks of wood and derelict house , Bathroom was dirty , very very dated , light above sink not working , Shower like a trickle from a watering can ! Had to pay £2 extra for cooked breakfast that was very poorly cooked ,asked for scrambled or poached eggs and told the chef couldn't do them !
IF you are considering staying here FORGET IT !!
Did complain and asked for a refund from a very abrupt rude manageress who said she wouldn't refund one penny , I guess she's used to all the complaints and isn't bothered .

We stayed here for one night whilst visiting family in Bristol. We only paid £37 via Booking.com which was less than half the price of other hotels in the area. The room was a family one as all the doubles were booked. It was on the top floor & there wasn't a lift, it wasn't easy manoeuvring even small cases up the narrow stairs & we're fit! Although very dated the room was ok, fairly clean but, desperately in need of a re-furb. There were wires everywhere & the bedside lamp couldn't be used as there wasn't a socket! The bathroom was clean but again very reminiscent of the 70's! Breakfast wasn't too bad at all, although we didn't want a cooked breakfast they looked nice enough. The staff particularly the receptionist were very friendly. On a negative note, we asked for an extra pillow each but, were told they didn't have any spare!!!!!! We've never had this problem in ANY other hotel or B&B.

Room Tip: If you have mobility problems book a room on a low floor, the stairs are a nightmare & there are...
