Description: A charming and unmistakably English manor house that dates back to the 12th century, The Manor House Hotel is home to a team who believe that warm hospitality is as strong a British tradition as the luscious landscaped gardens the building stands in. There are rumours of ghosts haunting the halls, but nothing untowardly shocking on the menu. Indeed, the Manor House Hotels restaurant continues the British theme, offering traditional and exotic but always locally sourced British cuisine to the highest standards and most artistic presentation, whilst the adjacent brassiere maintains a similar lofty standard in a more relaxed setting.

I booked this spa break through a living social deal £89 bed breakfast and spa treatment.
The price was good for what we got. The bedroom was lovely but could do with some renovations done around the hotel. We were both disappointed in our spa treatment and the spa area. The spa area is not very big at all. The massage was average. But for the price you can't expect too much.
We ate dinner at the restaurant and got a free bottle of red wine which was a added bonus. The starters we lovely my friend had the pâté and I had the fish they were lovely. We both had the chicken with cheese and it was over cooked. The desserts were lovely we had Lemon tart and vanilla cheese cake.
The breakfast was lovely nice quality bacon and sausages. We had a late check out so we kicked back and relaxed till 1pm. Overall we enjoyed our stay but I was left a little disappointed in the spa area. But for the price of the deal it is worth it. I recommend a refurb! Has lots of potential to be a really beautiful hotel. I would go back again for one of these deals as it's only 45 mins for where I live.

A one night stay, dinner, bed and breakfast, with treatment in the spa. We really enjoyed our stay here, very relaxing. The building pre-dates the USA. Date over door is 1420 (originating in the 12th century). Our room was good, spa facilities excellent, brilliant service all round and superb food. We will definitely be staying here again before too long. A good base for visiting the surrounding area.

Stayed one night on the spa break deal with b&b & evening meal. Welcome very friendly and helpful. Room very comfortable, only issue was that the bathroom door stuck on both the tiled floor and the ceiling.
Evening meal & service very good.
Breakfast was a bit disappointing, mainly due to the below average service. Got the impression that the waitress would have rather been anywhere else than at work.
Had an issue with the final bill, but this was sorted out very quickly.
I do feel that with better organisation and management this hotel would warrant a very good or excellent rating.

Thank Gary L

ate in restuarant at night - meal ok - but portions larger on a la carte than fixed price menu, which did not seem much of a bargain; only able to get bottled cider in restuarant despite it being on draught in the bar ! Stayed 1 night in small room more suited as a single - chair partly in doorway, furniture did nor seen to fit, only 1 bedside table & had to hunt for the tea making facilities. Everywhere looked a little shabby & mismatched - in need of tlc, decoration & repairs to squeaky floors - even under the bathroom tiles. Noise from a fan/ heating kept me awake most of the night & had to turn the tv up so could hear it !! Best part was breakfast - which was lovely & good value
