“A One Night Stop Over”
Reviewed 11 August 2014

We had to wait over 20 minutes at reception while the only receptionist spoke to her Head Office. The queue was to the door. We had previously pre-booked on line. Don't bother as you still have to go to reception as the promised key system doesn't happen at "small" Premier Inns. The room was fine and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. Having read the reviews beforehand about it being on a main road and could be noisy, there was no sound at all. That could be because we were there at a weekend or it could be that the soundproofing had worked.

IN an excellent position just metres off the A1. The staff are very friendly and ready to help at all times. Is in a quiet location despite traffic nearby. The servicing of the rooms is above the quality usually found in these motels. The rooms are the usual type and comfortable.

Room Tip: book ahead as it is handy for travellers.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights 25/26 July. I can`t understandsome of the bad reviews as all the staff were very helpful and friendly We stayed in room 5 and it wasvery clean and comfortable. The staff on the reception desk organised a taxi for us and could not of been more helpful. I would defiantly recommend this hotel and stay here again.

A great stay, in a comfortable clean and well equipped room. Superb value for money. The only drawback was the room was very hot with only a very small fan and the windows didnt open very far...... but we cant control the weather....... Receptionist on arrival made us feel very welcome We will return to another Premier Inn soon.

It was an absolute treat to stay here the staff were helpful, friendly with the day being very hot as it was to be offered a sheet instead of a duvet was a bonus and quite unexpected plus to find a fan/air conditioning unit in the room as well was a fist.

We stayed at this Premier Inn for one night recently whilst attending a nearby wedding. The hotel was reasonably priced for a Saturday night in July (about £65) although breakfast is an extra expense on top.

It was easy to book and check-in online. When we arrived the staff were all very friendly and helpful in booking a taxi for us. The room was clean, modern and a good size. The bed was very comfortable and excellent. The bathroom could have done with some updating and I didn't like the shower in the bath - the controls were not great either.

It was 30 degrees centigrade that weekend and very hot but the room does not have air conditioning. It has a room control for heat and the small fan that was provided did not cool the room down enough.

Other than that, though, we had a nice stay - the bed was great, the staff were very friendly and helpful and overall it was an easy experience.

26 July was uncomfortably hot after a day at the St Neots regatta so we were looking forward to a shower and a cool room. So we shouldn't have stayed here. In fairness the staff had thought to equip the room with a small electric fan which barely wafted the already near superheated air. The windows were prevented from opening more than a crack so there was no chance of a breeze. I went to reception, unable to sleep and was given a second pitiful fan whose cover was loose and made a heck of a racket if it vibrated on to the motor. We had a dreadful night until it cooled down around 3am. The bed was ROCK HARD!
Breakfast was shambolic. 8 dirty coffee cups before I found a clean one, they constantly ran out of coffee and hot water. Dirty plates. No hash browns. Slow service. In all a real disappointment. By accident & circumstance we chanced upon a superb Premier Inn in Weston Super Mare last year. We thought they would all be the same. Sadly, they are tired, becoming shabby and outdated lacking fairly basic facilities you should expect from all hotels.
I travel a lot for business and tend to use chains because you know you will get rooms to a standard. Unfortunately for Premier Inn, you get a standard. A low standard.
