“Good food, service and welcome”
Reviewed 23 June 2014

We were returning from a weekend wild camping on the summer solstice after sea kayaking on Loch Sunart so were both unkempt, midgie bitten, tired and hungry. We were welcomed into the bar (with a real ale on tap), refreshed and fed from an interesting and delicious menu. Relaxed, comfortable surroundings, and efficient service from staff who knew all about the menu (surprisingly rare), and the bar has a friendly atmosphere.

Lots of parking and lovely gardens with great views from its elevated position, overall a nice retreat from Fort William and certainly a place I would return to to break up the lengthy trips westward.

This is an excellent well run hotel. Ian and Suzanne have one of the better examples of a Best Western, the place is spotlessly clean, certainly our room was well appointed, food and drink very good with comfortable facilities. The Restaurant and Bar menus are varied and appropriately priced, we tried several dishes off both and found them all to very good and good value. Breakfasts were equally good. It's a good location for the West coast exploration, but locally in Roy Bridge and Spean Bridge there isn't much of interest (and it's a car journey) so we made use of the hotel in the evenings for food. A thoroughily enjoyable stay and highly recommended.

Room Tip: Front for views, back for less road noise.

We visited again after a gap of seven years and found that Ian and Suzanne, (who had just taken over the hotel the day before we arrived on our first vist!) have been very busy upgrading all the parts of the hotel we saw. Food nice, location and views onto Ben Nevis just fantastic, and the lovingly cared for garden full of birds, birdsong and wildlife. They have a recent award for best up and coming hotel - must be one of the best in the Best Western group.

Room Tip: Number 6 faces across the valley. Our four-poster room had a side view but was large. Television rec...

It was lovely to see you both again in much calmer circumstances, Our first few days of taking over the hotel were a blur there was so much to take in so I am glad we didn't scare you off then and it was lovely to be able to welcome you back and see the work we had done to the hotel hopefully its looking a lot better now than the tired old hotel we first took over, and I must admit the gardens are my favourite bit too! especially all the birds, hope we can welcome you here again in the future, it was very nice to see you both.

This hotel is in a back water Glen, overshadowed by Ben Nevis but in a tranquil setting. The food (particularly the breakfast smoked salmon and scrambled eggs) and the accommodation were exemplary and the hotel is well placed for any touring on the west coast.

This is a first class hotel run very professionally. Everything is of a very high standard and extremely tasteful with attention to detail. It is run by Suzanne and Ian, husband and wife, who are most friendly and welcoming and make sure your stay is comfortable and you have all you need. There is a restaurant if you care to eat in it or you can have and evening meal in the bar/lounge. There is a good selection to choose from at breakfast which will set you up for the day. The situation is in the Scottish Highlands with beautiful views from the hotel . Well worth a visit
