“Good food, average value, cold dining room”
Reviewed 20 November 2013

I'm used to eating Indian food, this was good although it was not great value for money. Naan bread was a bit undercooked and stodgy, more costly than I'm used to paying too. Main course was well cooked, I could taste the spices rather than just hot chilli. No bar, but you can take your own beer or wine. I was the only person in the dining room, which was COLD. I've rated it very good on the quality of the food, I would only rate it average on value for money.

“Good Indian food, no frills”
Reviewed 27 September 2013

The food here is very good and you should not be put off by the look or indeed the lack of licence, just bring your own bottle and have some fun. The portions are generous but like all restaurants some things are prepared differently than they are in your local, the pakora here is good but the batter is a little different, akin to chip shop rather than the spiced gram flour batter I am used to. All in all a good meal and will definitely return on our next trip to Brora.

“Tasty food, no frills”
Reviewed 23 September 2013

We ate here on Thursday night after 18 holes at Brora. The mixed pakora was ok. The batter was like chip shop batter rather than gram flour batter with spices. The mains were generous and tasty. Remember if you fancy a beer or glass of wine, this restaurant is not licensed so visit the Coop across the road for BYOB. Staff are friendly

“Best Indian meal I have ever had”
Reviewed 19 September 2013

Went to the restaurant 3 times during our stay in Helmsdale (12 miles away) in sept 2013.

I can honestly say that the meal was the best Indian meal I have ever eaten. Staff, service, food and venue were perfect. The restaurant was not busy on each occasion which was very surprising. They also offer a take away facility which is incredibly busy.

Would go again. It was amazing.
