We were travelling in peak season and were very grateful to get any room in the area. The room had been renovated reasonably recently and was tastefully done in blacks and greys. It was very clean but the bathroom was perpetually damp. With no natural air flow I'm sure this would always be the case. This produced a musty smell. However we were quite happy with the rest of the room. We dined in the restaurant and had a nicely cooked but very basic meal. Fortunately we've been away for so long that we didn't mind having such a 'homey' meal. Would have been disappointed if I've were having a celebratory meal. Breakfast was a regular buffet selection of cereals etc with a choice of hot options cooked as ordered. location is good.

I really, really wish I had read the reviews before paying £126 per night for this hotel! I will start by pointing out that the management need to understand the definition of 'deluxe'........rich, elegant or sumptuous..........NOT a bare room with no bedside lamps, no shower, no character.....telling us five times that it was a deluxe room just didn't make it happen! Not one member of staff gave a smile the whole three days we were there. There was no welcome pack in the room so we didn't know about breakfast times or check out times etc and the tea making facitlies were placed on a high shelf only suitable for a 7ft visitor....of course the views were great, but in this area of the world you get a great view from EVERYWHERE......this hotel really needs to smarten up and greet its visitors with a smile and a warm welcome. It could be such a great place but is not run well at all.....it needs updated and staff that actually care. I wouldn't visit again.

This hotel looks very nice online however is rather misleading as on arrival it was not at all like the website illustrates. We were shown to our room by who we assumed is the manager who was very plesant. Our room was extreamly dated with what looked like yellow smoke stained doors, door surrounds and ceilling with a musky oddor present. We thought as we are only to stay one night we would give it the benefit of the doubt and try the restaurant, this was equally as dissapointing and dated as the bedroom. We ordered a salmon dish and a steak dish. The steak was not cooked how I requested and was covered in an oily grease which was supposed to be pepercorn sauce and amongst the cauliflower sat a large and extreamly unappetising dead blue bottle! This was the final straw for us and we decided not to stay the night. The hotel manager understood and did not charge us for the room that we did not use or the meal that we did not eat. We have never left a review before but as we were really let down with this hotel we thought we should warn others of the misleading website.

Superb view on the loch. We were introduced by a painter. He first showed us a room: the window was not opening. Dust everywhere. Musty smell. The second bedroom was a little better but the (balneo) bathtub and the music were not working. We had to make 3 times the bed(too small sheets) ;The breakfast cannot be called breakfast. Stains of coffee everywhere. No plate available. The hotel is dirty and not maintained properly;

On arriving at this hotel, first impressions were that the decor was very dated and in need of some much needed tarting up, a man appeared and we were shown up a dark unwelcoming staircase to the room which we'd booked, which to be frank was fairly awful. The pictures really do not show it in its full horrendous glory, avoid at all costs!! The manager said he had a superior room which we could have for £10 extra, however the room again, was very drab and in poor state of decoration. The view of the loch however was simply exquisite! The furniture and general decor of the room was straight from the 1970's, the green carpet and creamy coloured paintwork was just horrendous, but the bed looked clean and in fairness was quite comfortable. The bathroom too could benefit greatly from a lick of paint but was clean enough and we had an added "luxury" of a spa bath which although very noisy did work well. The toilet seat didn't fit the toilet properly and there was a faint odour of "Eau de toilet" Breakfast again to be fair was more than ample and the girl serving was very friendly. Had the manager not had the loch view room available, we would have left there and then, the unbelievably beautiful view from room 18 saved this hotel from an absolutely awful review!!!! I would not go back and it certainly was not worth £96 for bed and breakfast. The owners describe these hotel rooms as luxurious .. They are very very far from that!

Room Tip: We stayed in 18 .. The view was their only saving grace!

The hotel rooms allocated were comfortable and clean and had nice views of the sea loch, mountains with snow. Even the weather was good. A good 1/2 hr drive to the ski slopes at Aonoch Mhor or to the South at Glencoe. Good for walking, hiking rock climbing.
Food was good but watch out for the A la Carte menu which can add a few extra pounds to your stay should you stray from the fixed menu -- which is the same each night! A little variety would be better. No children's menu which was a shame.

Room Tip: Ask for a view of the Loch

Staying on our anniversary break we were deeply disappointed by this hotel.

The room was in a poor state of repair and looked like the furniture had come from a skip. The "shower" was merely a shower attachment on the bath. There was mould under the basin and the wallpaper was peeling.

To charge so much for this "deluxe" room is a disgrace.

When we told the receptionist his reply was that the building was "old"!

At breakfast we were shown to a table and had to sit there without menus until we complained. And we then discovered that tea and coffee were self-service! Not that anyone had bothered telling us.

Overall, a place to avoid!

Room Tip: Don't believe the photographs. The room we had was nothing like any of them.
