We decided to book a weekend away as a gift for my pregnant sister, our partners and my dad, who hasn't had a holiday since we were kids. When we arrived, we were greeted by a very helpful girl who showed us the hotel facilities. She mentioned to us that because there were 5 of us, it would be better for us to stay in Tower 2. Tower 2 was a situated just infront of the hotel, right by the Marina, overlooking the water. What a gorgeous setting. A panoramic view of Anglesey. There was plenty of room for us all. 3 double rooms (ours had its own bathroom with a jaquzzi). Spacious living room with cooker, tv, dinning area and a very comfortable seating arrangement. There were balconies in 2 of the rooms were that were exceptional. In the morning we had a lovely breakfast in the hotel. We also used the swimming pool that was also equiped with sauna and steam-shower (with built in stereo). A very enjoyable venue that one of the locals called 'the pink palace'. We plan to revisit in the future. Just a shame we didn't stay for longer. Very well recommended. Rachel from Manchester xxxx

Well the sight of the cheap pink sausage for breakfast will stay with me for some time. Breakfast definitely not worth £7, bags of sliced white /brown bread, powder nescafe and some very old croissants on the buffet bar to help yourself from. Then the plate of cooked breakfast egg, bacon (good) marred by cheap beans and that memorable pink sausage. No fliter coffee available. Swimmingpool good, but very poor finish throughout hotel, peeling wallpaper, etc expected Basil to pop up. Hotel has good view and easy to find.

Non Commercial, Family friendly, not the Plaza Hotel but what do you expect for ₤80 pounds a night, the room was big, clean and quirky, not a box room with same deco in every room, each room was unique and the extensive renovation work done to the original old house has been very taste-fully in keeping with the original features. Don’t know about you but it was a pleasant change to the typical travel lodge, same every ware.
The breakfast was good value for ₤7, as we had a full cooked and could help our self’s to as much tea and coffee, cereal and toast as one coffee is never enough for me in the morning.
Fantastic views from our room and from the breakfast conservatory, the Swimming pool was very warm and we had a fab time in the bar at evening talking to all the Welsh locals.
The receptionist was welcoming and helped us book restaurant and taxies, also advised us of all the local attractions which did help us a lot. Our room had big TV and internet access, a sofa and a king size bed.
I will in future always stay in small privately owned B&B or Hotels and people should not compare them to big multimillion pound Hotel Chains.
Very nice over all, cant wait to come back to see the finished result.

Avoid the Hotel Plas Dinorwic. During our recent 2-night stay, we had the following problems:

1. Dirty room, including mouldy bathrooms (see photos);
2. Musty smell in rooms;
3. No hot water;
4. Still no hot water after moving to another room;
5. It tried to charge us 2-times the rate offered when the reservation was made, and only backed down when shown a copy of the reservation confirmation;
6. Uncaring attitude by management when concerns were raised; and
7. Woman from management tried to intimidate my mum when she tried to obtain compensation.

I was most upset by the way hotel management treated us. Not only were the problems not rectified, one woman in particular was condescending, rude, and attempted to intimidate my mum by telling her, in a very hostile tone, that she "did not appreciate" our complaints.

The hotel requires you to pay the full amount upon check-in -- we found out why when we saw the rooms! We booked this place based only on its location and the description on its website - big mistake. The photos on the hotel's website looks 3 times better than the real thing.
