“Lovely Hotel, Great Location”
Reviewed 11 August 2009

I stayed at Rossett Hall with my partner just after Christmas in 2008. I couldn't fault our room and the staff did everything they could to make our stay an enjoyable one. We had a lovely meal at Oscar's Restaurant too, the steak was fantastic. The hotel is in a great location for exploring Chester and the North Wales countryside.

Having stayed in the hotel many times before, my girlfriend and I booked a weekend away in North Wales. The hotel is very clean & tidy and the staff are always on hand to do anything they can for you. We stayed in one of the new executive rooms which were great as they had a fridge in them! The restaurant was also very nice, it's been done up since the last time we came and looks a lot better now, very modern. The food was as nice as always, I remember the portions used to be quite big and I was happy to see they still are! Although my girlfriend couldn't finish her meal, I took great pleasure in helping her out! Would certainly reccomend the hotel to anyone.

The hotel has no air con and only one medium sized window to ventilate the room and couple this with a very hot winter duvet option, it did not deliver a pleasant 2 night stay. The air was stale and the bathroom smelt of wet dogs. The size of the room was good and the shower was really poweful and breakfast was the usual selection. There are other options nearby and would investiagte these in the future, if you wanted to stay in this area.

We booked this hotel after trawling through the internet ,and what a choice !!
We arrived late on the friday evening and were greeted by a very polite night porter who sorted out all our needs.
The room was beautifuly decorated and the bathroom was huge, the shower was very powerful and we also had a bath !!
The breakfast was a buffet style but there was ample choice, our evening meal was truly exceptional.
The whole package which was labled under "summer sizzler" was well worth the extra few pounds.
I would highly recomend this hotel

Spent one night in this hotel. Close to Chester, in quiet village location just inside the Welsh border.

Check in was smooth and very quick. We were told of the hotel's facilities and given directions to our room. Our room was quite big, with a very large bathroom. The decor was nothing fantastic but was very clean. Also at end of a corridor and no noise could be heard at night.

The only real down point to this room was the shower. There was a sign on the wall to say the water needed to run a while before it warmed up, but after 10 minutes we decided to give up waiting for even a slight warm feeling to the water. We opted for a bath instead.

Breakfast was served in the restaurant. It was a buffet with a selction of cereal, tinned fruit and yoghurt. There was also a hot section with bacon, fried eggs sausages etc. There was also a variety of juices, although these weren't freshly squeezed. Fresh toast was provided and brought to the table. The quality was good and more than adequate for our needs.

Overall, a good hotel. It's a good 3* at a reasonable price. We would stay here again if we were ever down this way.

We have just returned from a one night stay in the Best Western Rossett Hall hotel NEAR Chester.
It is a lovely hotel, in a good location, not in Chester but only about 6 miles from it in Rossett.
Hotel had lovely grounds and lovely clean rooms.Nice bathroom and powerful shower.
We had our 8 month old baby with us and there was no problem with high chair in restaraunt and had baby change facilities too. We brought our own travel cot, but they would have provided one if required.
Staff were v friendly and help yourself breakfast was fresh and was a good selection of items to choose from.
Would come back to this hotel if I was planning a break in Chester and would reccomend it for a 1 night stay or longer.

For a last minute bank holiday booking everything was good at this hotel. A lovely room just up stairs from reception - small but adequately furnished for a 2 day break. Oscars Restauarant and bar looks 'different' on first entering but is actually quite comfortable. The settees are ideal for relaxing in after a wonderful meal with choices of 'bar snack' type meals or the Oscar signature dishes - the Malaysian chicken curry is gorgeous.
