My husband and I stayed in this lovely hut and we're utterly charmed by the whole experience.
The hut itself is tucked away in a secluded setting but with glorious views over the Welsh hills.
The hut and kitchenette are very well presented and a lot of consideration has been given to ensuring that nearly every need you have is covered. The owners have gone to the effort of adding in little touches that really add to the feeling of luxury - a little vase of flowers, some cake waiting for you to have with your tea, various teas and real coffee...
The owners are friendly and helpful without being intrusive. They catered for my strict diet with no fuss and careful consideration - a rarity! We opted to have breakfast delivered to the hut in the morning and what a treat! Scrummy, home made, and included something for every taste.
I am generally a real critic in reviews but honestly can say that this retreat is a hidden gem.
We had a lovely couple's weekend at the shepherds hut. A very cosy hut, situated with good privacy in a field, with a comfortable bed and many lovely details - we put on the woodburner at night which was very cosy. There's everything you need for a stay -seating outside to enjoy the amazing view, reading material on the area, and little useful details like binoculars and a torch. Given there is no running water I was very positively surprised that there was a composting toilet, wash basin to brush teeth and wash, and a little kitchenette to make tea & coffee or cook on the camping stove. The hut and amenities were so lovingly put together it had a rustic charm and sense of luxury for me. Loved the area too - Montgomery is so pretty and we had a delicious treat with a tasting meal at the Checkers.
Wish I could have stayed a couple more days just to hide away and read and enjoy the slow pace of the place. The owners Maryline &Peter were very welcoming and approachable, and made a really good cooked breakfast.
